Capoeira Angola Palmares in LondonVisitors making their way to Baishaki Mela - the Bangladeshi New Year - were met with a strange sight at London's Liverpool Street station last weekend. On a warm and sunny Sunday morning, more than 20 people were forming a circle and singing in accompaniment to a range of string instruments and drums while two participants threw kicks at and cartwheeled away from each other within. This was capoeira, East End-style.

Site: Boston area,MA,USA.
Many capoeira groups have started to settle down here. They have many students attending their workshops and classes. Brazilians and Americans students share their love for this type of "fighting/art".Great shows!
Brazilian culture at its best!

It took emmigrating to Australia from England for me to find capoeira. It's wonderful to hear that had I stayed in the UK that I would have found capoeira eventually.

Capoeira has changed my life... a roda ja comecou, camaradas...

A beautiful depiction from somebody on the inside .. how refreshing after so many articles which seem to serve more to 'rarify' capoeira .. Also being from the UK originally it is great to hear the toques of berimbaus are singing out through the traffic and bustle of London's city life .. Capoeira me leva!

I spent 5 months in Brasil travelling, in that 5 months I watched alot of Capoiera, the most amazing being in a village in the north east of Brasil called Jerricoacoara ( im not sure about the spelling). I attempted one class and my body ached for 2 days! I have been back in london for some time now but really miss watching it. Any suggestions?
