One thing about being white is that you can leave the ghetto when you get tired of it. Blacks don't have that choice and most of the world's ghettoes are inhabited by blacks and other nowhites.
Yes there are many decent honest people in the ghetto trapped by racism and poverty but white society wants to demonize black people as criminals, thugs, murderers and rapists. But most inhabitants are the working poor, victims of racist Aryan societies who had no use for them after they performed centuries of free labor and then discarded them.
Yes these people thrive but society still owes them a chance at a fair and just society in which racial barriers are finally destroyed or at least lowered a bit.

You are right about racist aryan societies and their insistence on demonizing blacks and other people of color. It is ingenius to attribute to others the dominant traits of yourself! Most of the whites in power now refuse to admit that all of their gains, privileges, rank, station, power, wealth came as a result of one or more of their ancestors using unchecked aggression against a people not prepared for military action against their people. In others words they were living in relative peace in their societies. The barbarians with nothing but the shirts on their backs and guns/swords in their hands could not make it in their own lands ( Could'nt compete), so like water they chose the path of least resistance, people who were unaware of what was coming! Just like the Tsunami's that roared through asia, racist white people have roared throughout the world causing equivalent havoc wherever they show their smiling faces!

The favellados need descend from their morros and start killing white folks to change things. No way in hell are well-off Brasilians are going to champion any cause to improve the lives of colored persons. Why? Because they are content with their class status, and do not want change. A revolution is neccessary.

nowhere in the artical above dose it mention colour or race. it was a great pecice of writing about people pulling togther in order to live. trust the rasist readers of this site to throw colour at it. ive not yet had the chance to viset a favala but im shure that people of all colours live there. and if people are going to start killing whites then you better sought out what the hell white means, you wouldent want to acidently kill you best striker now would you. seems to me brazilins are a bit colour blind, mabey thats a good thing unless your the poster above.

In Rocinha there is many colors of people icluding white..it is more problem of living in the favela, you get desriminated against. Other favelas have most of brown and black..If you go for the job offer in Rio and you live in the favela you do not get the job, even if you are white person.
