{mosimage}Peat is usually known as the fuel used for whisky distillation in Scotland, but it has much more usefulness. Large peat deposits occur in the cold countries of Northern Europe, but there are also deposits in warm countries like Brazil.

An excelent article. I guess that nobody search the area close to swamps of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso and perhaps more west of Brazil.
I worked one year at Federal University Mato Grosso do Sul and I used to take a bus to nowhere and then walk all weekend. I saw interesting lands but I am not geologist. However, I could observe a lot things different in some areas in terms of geological formation.
Anyway a good article, congratulations.

Thank you for your comments. I know the swamps (Pantanal) in Mato Grosso and I guess it is not promising for peat as its sedimentation environment is too oxidant, where the vegetable remains are quickly decomposed and destructed.
