House Speaker Severino Cavalcanti on Veja's coverVeja is showing the Lacerdist inspiration of its actions and reactions. Carlos Lacerda was a brilliant journalist, but as orator and politician he was our protorevolutionary, extremist, radical, crazed. And consequently intolerant, unfair, perverse. It was our first fundamentalist in political matters. As reward he ended up alone.

strange critics from a journalist.....

...who voluntarily forgets that it is because the press and notably accusations...with proofs and evidence.....from Veja.... of many deep corruptions...that started all this crisis.

You can just refer to today's news, that demonstrate.....corruptions evidenced were even far bigger and deeper than initially thought.

When you open a dark hole...such as the brazilian corruption...you never know in advance where the bottom is ! But what is sure is that the corruption is even more deeply rooted...simply not proven....yet !!!!

If no proof is given....does not mean that there is no corruption ! Corruption in the political ranks are usually covered up...by threats, pressure...from the highest powered people. Even from the top of top....smile....as no doubt he/they should also have some proofs and evidences of corruptions...on his opposition members !!!!! smile.....

So the game is.....YOU tell.....I tell....!!!!!

This is exactly how this crisis started...with Jefferson !!!!

Why should he have been the only corrupted politician incriminated...to whom fingers should be pointed....even from his allies...the government and PT party ?????

Welll...well....THEY simply put an auto goal !!!!!
Veja has long given up credibility for s

It's a pity that Veja is the number one read magazine in Brazil. It's been long since they have published articles impossible to prove true, with "conversations" among those they want to discredit. Not many years ago, they made a terrible accusation against one of our most honest politicians, only to be proven wrong years after. Was there an equally bombastic cover to apologize to him and to the readers? Of course not. And worse, they knew the accusation wasn't bona fide BEFORE publishing the story, but went ahead anyway. Why? Their commitment to something more than the facts.
Veja attacks the individuals they don't like, or whose politial position isn't aligned with their own, on a personal level. I recall articles in which they criticized a certain senator because he used to wear sandals instead of shoes. A senator whose position they opposed. Or when they made fun of the dress of the wife of the then-president Fernando Collor, who had then been disgraced. Not that the first or the latter were right or wrong, but it's not proper to criticize them for their attires, trying to ridicule them, is it? It's even childish, when you think about it.
The problem, besides their lack of ethics, is the lack of a critic spirit in the Brazilian population. If something is published in Veja, or appears on Globo TV, people assume it's true.
Thanks a lot and help us to show the tru

Dear Sirs,

Our country is being attacked by this kind of journalism: Veja attacks the individuals they don't like, or whose politial position isn't aligned with their own, on a personal level. The worst of all: Its the most readen magazine in Brazil and the public epinion is strongly influenced by its weekly comments.
We got to start showing the people how tendencious the magazine is, before it bring the country seroius demage in our gowing economy.
Thanks a lot and forgive me the bad english !

What we'd really like to see happening in this country is a less biased media, such as Veja and Rede Globo(Globo Tv), so as to really inform anyone thursty for knowledge and truth.
