When German engineer Rudolf Diesel took the first diesel engine to the world fair in Paris, France, at the beginning of the 1920's, he used peanut oil as a fuel. Eleven years later, despite using a fossil fuel, he stated: "The diesel engine may also be powered with vegetable oils, and this will help in the development of agriculture around the world."

at what cost? soy is already taking over the amazon. if biodesel takes of in a big way the amazon wont be here for long. north brazil will turn to desert and brazil will be importing cammels and water. hydrogen is the way forward, at least the only emition from hydrogen fuel will be water. lets not forget the hemp if you giong to take biodiesel seriously you have to consider hemp. hemp could also replace wood for paper production and be used as fuel. not a new idea, henry ford used it for everything inculuding the car itself. hay but what planet am i from surley that would all be to logical and involve some free thinking intelegance.

I'd much rather be stuck in traffic with a bus in front of me that smelled like a french fry instead of fossil fuel. But seriously...
How about fuel cells guys? Take a look at this article and see how many vehicle manufacturers are already messing with this. The internal combustion motor is on the way OUT.
