In 1980, the newspaper Jornal de Brasília published an article entitled "The Green Alaska." It warned of the risk that the Amazon Rainforest could be sold as a form of foreign-debt payment, the same way that, in 1867, Russia sold Alaska to the United States. Twenty-five years later, this warning has not come true, but a considerable part of the forest has been destroyed. It is as if we were telling the world that the Amazon Rainforest is ours and we have the right to destroy it.

STOP OR REDUCE DEFORESTATION.
Forget the demand of wood. If there is not enough supply, prices will go up, and you could make even more money by selling less trees !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And Amazon deforestation is not done by foreing companies but by legal and illegal brazilian loggers ! And you even let the illegal loggers continue to deforest with total impunity, just giving a little fine here and there, to make the world believe you do something against deforestation.
PITTY....this article !
