A researcher from Butantan institute in São Paulo, Brazil Butantan Institute, an organization connected to the Secretariat of Health of the State of São Paulo, in southeastern Brazil, is going to produce a vaccine against avian flu using Brazilian technology that grants greater efficiency, productive capacity and a cost reduction when compared to the technology used by other countries.

I am waiting to see who's going to be the first to say that the vaccine is cheap because "slave laborers" created it.

Not this time anyway. I am very familiar with the science being done at the Butantan as well as the top notch scientists that are working there. The Butantan is the worlds preeminemt research institue working with new drugs from posionus reptiles, in particular snake venom. I have no doubt that Professor Raw and his assitant Catherine will could bring to market a vaccine for Avian flu. My business involves supplying US Biotechs with new active ingredients and intermediates, I have had the pleasure of dealing with the Butantan on several occasions and found them all to be the ultimate professionals. I wish Professor Raw and his team the best.

Also, if you are ever in Sao Paulo, check out their zoo and museum which is open to the public, an incredible display or serpents and science, well worth the trip.

funny that you did not react to the contradiction in the article !
1) the vaccine will be tested on mices.....meaning it is NOT YET a proven vaccine...and may be it will never ever be !
2) but the maufacturing plant will be ready by April !
