When I told my Brazilian wife about an article I read recently bashing her country's melodious Hino Nacional ("the world's worst national anthem," was the staggeringly forthright, first line of the piece), she grew absolutely indignant - irate, I'd dare say, all four-foot-eleven inches of her - over what I truly thought was a tongue-in-cheek approach used by the author, Englishman Ricky Skelton, regarding this potentially incendiary subject.

Concerning the difference of "style" between the UK and Liechtenstein national anthems, Skelton is TRULY an idiot, simply because :
"The tune and words of the UK anthem "God save the Queen" are mostly accredited to Henry Carey but this is not the only theory. Others say that the music was written by the famous composer Jean-Baptiste Lully based on a French hymn played when the King arrived. The tune is also used as the national anthem of Liechtenstein." ....as per
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A798195
Furthermore the same source says : "The Sex Pistols released their own version of 'God Save the Queen' proclaiming: 'God Save the Queen! The fascist regime!'. The song was banned but this didn't stop people buying it and it sold like hot cakes"
Better yet.... as per : http://david.national-anthems.net/li.htm
"It may seem odd to hear that the melody of the national anthem of Liechtenstein, a central European kingdom with no ties to Great Britian at all in its history, would be exactly the same as the familiar God Save the Queen, but, as the Liechtenstein anthem, it is entitled "Oben am jungen Rhein". This link might be explained by its close ties to neighbouring Switzerland, who has also used the melody as its anthem in its past (as well as nearby Prussia, and later Germany, at the time). (The fact that Liechtenstein shares a well-known tune with another nation has led to a few awkward situations of amateur composers approaching Liechtenstein officials with proposals for a new anthem, convinced that one is needed.)"
Funny isnt ????? Goofing more is difficult !!!! Laugh...laugh...laugh !
The other funny thing is the Brazilian national anthem when it says : "The guarantee of that equality"
knowing Brazil is the world 10th most UNEQUAL country !!!
Should it not be more appropriate if it would have been "The guarantee of that (IN)equality" ?????
