When President Barack Obama assumes office on January 20 can we expect to hear him say the magic word "Brazil"? I would not bet on it although he may refer two or three of the other "BRICs" - Russia, India and China. Presumably, he will follow his two predecessors - George W. Bush and Bill Clinton - and visit Brazil some day but it is hard to imagine this occurring during President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's last two years in office.

I am afraid that it is just going to be just "IC" that has the market of almost 2.5 Billion people for the U.S.,U.K., Canada and EU. Give and take policy. The Swiss as usual will remain "neutral". "R" is really a competitor for the "blocks" listed and Putin and Maldeved don't have much say in there. "I" may be nice to them, because of their "historical" friendship.
Unlikely. If Fidel departs, Raul is there to continue the "Revolution". Cuba is a non entity and if the Yanks want to liberate it, all they have to do is to release the prisoners at Gitmo after arming them to teeth and anchoring U.S.S George Washington close by to give moral support. This ensures that the Yanks do not have to repeat the "Bay of Pigs" disaster. The least we can do for the Castro Dynasty is to give them political asylum.
Mangabeira Unger, the ex-professor of BHO? I don't think that Obama is going to be too subservient to him.
A racist comment by the author of this article, calling BHO a "Mulatto". He conveniently forgets that BHO´s Mom was from Kansas and Dad was from Kenya and most of the Americans (and the Scottish) are not aware of the word "Mulatto". Also in his concluding remarks, he has not explained why "about half the Brazilian population which is of mixed race" should get excited about BHO.
