Brazilian workerHe who pays the piper, may not always call the tune. At least this is what astounding news released Wednesday June 30th, by IPEA (Applied Economic Research Institute - Brazil) have proven, and what many Brazilians have been suspecting for years. According to the Institute, the poorest 10% of the population pays 32% more taxes than their 10% wealthiest counterparts, who contribute with 22%.

This is Brazil so proud of being so bad on their social and wealth INEQUALITY !
One of the worst country..on earth !

Joao....where are you ?
Isnt it not funny that this article came just after my comments in the previous blog ???????

In Brazil society the rules are....Everything for a few, and the residues for the vast majority !
And those who have something are adamantly and furiously in favor....to change nothing for the vast majority of poors !

Sadly...so true !

The word is Caste, not Cast. The other day I bought a vise made in China at Harbor Freight, and on the box it said VICE.

One can go to jail for Vice, not Vise. Lotsa laffs, thanx.

I am here, quite busy. Now that you asked my opinion, I have a question to ask: How many times have I told you that the poor also pay heavy taxes indirectly, though they don't file their Income Tax returns? The idiots like me file our IR and on top of it pay voluptuous taxes on the products we buy. Look at it, the cars and other consumer white goods have their IPI reduced and the Informatics Productare not included in the list.

To Ric: Glad that the editors read your admonishment and corrected "cast" to "caste". Please do keep up your good work.

Oh, ch.c., I forgot to say that the rich like your friend Sarney do not have to declare all their assets in their IRs. smilies/wink.gif smilies/cheesy.gif smilies/grin.gif

Come the revolution, Poor sad Brazil = it's the oddest and greatest secret out there; that the Queen of England has presided for 60+ years over an income tax rate of 98% - she's the only great revolutionary of the last hundred years., Roll over Lenin... Fidel: you've been demonised in the West, But you're not short of courage; will you do as Deng Xiaoping did: and revert from , communism to your initial position of simply trying improve the lot of the people of your nation...
