Lula's Latest Decree Is Death Knell for Free Press and Private Property PDF Print E-mail
2010 - January 2010
Written by Janer Cristaldo
Saturday, 30 January 2010 03:13

MST takes over farm in BrazilReaders ask me if I'm not going to comment on the infamous Decree 7,037 establishing the National Human Rights Program, the last gasp of the Kremlin's widows in a Brazil where the essence of the air is still red. (Le fond de l'air est rouge, as the 1968 rich kids used to say  in Paris).

To be honest, I wasn't going to comment. The mainstream media is strongly denouncing the miniconstituent dressed as a decree and it is obvious that the text as it is is not going to pass. They couldn't hide their impatience and greediness.

Terrorist Paulo Vannuchi's plan angered many people and powerful sectors of the country, starting with the Armed Forces and the Church. What is not appropriate in an election season, particularly in a year when the government is betting all its chips in another terrorist. (Dilma Rousseff, Lula's pick to succeed him, used to be a member of the Armed Revolutionary Vanguard Palmares, the VAR-Palmares guerrilla group in the 1960s.)

I like to denounce what the press doesn't. In any case, since readers insist, I'll do it. The miniconstituent - or coup, as some journalists define it - among other fine qualities, abolishes with a stroke of a pen the right to property, the freedom of education and the freedom of the press.

You don't need a good memory to be aware that we have seen this. USSR, China, North Korea, Cambodia, Cuba, remember? This is what happens when a country allows miscreants who should be in jail to take the reins of power.

They say the military were the winners of 64. Wrongo! The military were soundly defeated in 64. Their role in history today is that of villains. The terrorists who were supposedly defeated, who wanted to transform the country into a Moscow banana republic, have been taken to the heroes podium.

Since they are on top, nothing more natural than to try to make the legal text into what already exists in embryo in practice. The right to property has been plundered every day by the so-called landless, with the judiciary's and executive's consent. Free press, the cornerstone of the 1988 Constitution, became a joke.

Any first instance small potatoes judge, with a stroke of a pen can forbid any paper denouncing the government's corruption. As for the schools we've known for long they are controlled by the former communosaurs. Universities, today, especially the Catholic ones, are laboratories of Marxism. The luminaries from the Brasília Plateau might have thought: since we got there, let's make this thing official.

A dear friend writes to me: "The insane decree provides, in cases of property invasion, that the victim should seek a solution to the conflict before a government committee (formed by some who-knows, "civil society members.") In case this terrorist attempt succeeds we may not leave our homes, for example, to travel. For when we come back, we may find the lock already duly changed by the invaders. Hence, we will only be able to cry in the ear of a committee, whose decision is not difficult to predict! Only then, if the ominous committee does not find a solution, at that time only, the poor plundered citizen may seek judicial assistance provided by the Federal Constitution. Can this happen?"

It can. This has been going on for long. Today, if a farmer has its property invaded, he can no longer call the police and expel the invaders. The judiciary, by claiming the right to arbitrate a police matter, gave the Catholic guerrilla on a plate what the bandits most wanted. Indeed, even if a judge grants the owner the legal possession, depending on the state the Executive may have the luxury of disobeying the court order.

What amazes me in all this is that the so-called homeless haven't yet started to invade beach houses, which after all lack "social function" most of the year. But my friend will get it all sooner or later. At the rate we are going, we will get there rather sooner than later. With or without the Human Rights Decree. And we'll have enough left-wing judges to recognize the right of possession of the invader.

In Spain they are already there. A citizen, I cannot remember now from which city, went on vacation and when he came back, he found the apartment had been raided and the lock changed. This happened about 15 months ago. To date, the owner has not regained possession. If it were I, I'd smash the door, get in by force and send the bum away.

If someone can break into my house, why can't I, the owner, do the same? It turns out that the law does not allow it. If I have the property, the villain has the possession. And if in Spain there have been sentences to that effect, it will not take long before the fashion gets to us. The Gordian knot of the decree, however, lies in another item.

It is the terror's revenge attempt, which wants to send to jail the military that one day, by common consent, were pardoned. To the left, amnesty is unilateral. Only the left can be pardoned. It turns out that this is not the tenor of the institution.

Amnesty is for both sides or it's not amnesty. Vannuchi in his truculence, is proposing a return to primitive times, when vendetta was an acceptable way of justice. The notorious decree is a recurrence of Marxism in the Workers Party (PT).

After Lula demolished the party's ideals, some hardliners decided to unfurl again the old flag. If it catches, it catches. But it won't pass. I would say it is like a goat in the room. In this case in the presidential office.

Removed the goat, everyone will be happy with what they already have. Will remain, of course, some of the animal excrement. For a country that swallows Lula, swallowing shit will be quite easy.

after hordes of articles from coha and uraguain lefists with an agenda, at least there is some kind of breath of fresh air of balance

this may be an extreme look at it but so are the other one sided articles from the other side

yeah, some kind of balance
Something missing here . . .

Is there some reason Venezuela shouldn't be on this list?

written by João da Silva, January 30, 2010

Yes. I didn't expect Janer to write an article criticizing PNDH-3! I had commented about this plan several times. You may recall that our "vanished" buddy ch.c (hope he is still alive) was insisting that MST was invading only large farms and I was questioning his claim. All the time I knew about the "Filiais" (and free lancers) of MST invading small private properties. IMHO, the objective of PNDH-3 was to demoralize our Military and ensure that they do not interfere in the process of legitimizing anarchy!

On the whole, this is an interesting article. Especially of interest to us is the following statement of his:

What amazes me in all this is that the so-called homeless haven't yet started to invade beach houses, which after all lack "social function" most of the year. But my friend will get it all sooner or later. At the rate we are going, we will get there rather sooner than later. With or without the Human Rights Decree. This is already happening and few are willing to bring up the issue. It doesn't have to be a house on the beach. It could be anywhere.

Are we all this stupid?

Americans and Brazilians alike have become complacent. We are allowing this to take place. We must fight and not allow these communists to take hold.

hahahah Holy Hyperbole batman.... It's those bloody COMMIES out to get us again!?!?! Heck, China is soo communist today, that it's a capitalist's wet dream. loolol The sad reality is that many goofy Americans commenting on this site don't know JACK about communism, socialism, Marxism, heck let's call a spade a spade, most Americans don't know ANYTHING about anything. America's rhetoric is old and tired, vapid and weak, and yes, it may work on simpler minds in America's deep south, and the older buffoons still trying to clench onto the OLD GOOD DAYS, but the international community is better educated and understands that the world is not black and white, good versus evil. Hey everyone, check under your beds before you go to sleep, there might be a COMMIE PINKO there ready to suck out your brains. hahahahahahahahahahahhahah

Nowhere did I call America an "Evil empire". They lost their empire status years ago. I only stated that it was filled with idiots and simpletons who still use 1950s rhetoric in the 21st century. You want balance? Buy a scale, dumba$$.

Oh my god this article is wrong in so many levels! Get the facts first before writing so many rubbish! This so called PNDH-3 is not some new commie thing, it started at FHC gov... WTF. It's not even law, it's just a guideline for years to come, it's up the congress to make laws about it or discard it. That's why it is called a PROGRAM (Programa nacional dos direitos humanos, national plan for human rights). Ok, I may be wrong, but why PNDH-3 wasn't published here and critized line by line, showing why it's so dangerous for brazilian democracy? That's the right way to do it, but this would show that this article is full of opinion and lacking ANY evidence.

Not easy being The Empire to top all empires! And not cheap either as the American people are starting to learn the hard way. It has never worked and never will, but until this one is dismantled the world cannot move on to becoming a better place for 'all' humanity. That doesn't necessarily connotate a designation as 'evil', but Ghengis Khan would have been proud ...

The MST is a bit movement, as are hippies in Che Guevara tshirts. Those who do the most damage to people around the world are the ENRONS, WORLDCOMS, Bernie Maddocks, BUSH dynastys and, OH, the CATHOLIC CHURCH. If you think a couple of pot smoking professors are USFC are the biggest threat to global stability, while your government has been blasting away at the middle east for 8 years, you need to lay off the caiparinhhas and stop watching FOX news. Whenever I think Americans can't get any dumber, I always bump into one that sets a new standard.

According to the Department of Defense publication, "Active Duty Military Personnel Strengths by Regional Area and by Country," the United States has troops in 135 countries. Here is the list:

Cata, having BASES in a nation doesn't automatically quality it for imperial status. That said, arguments can be made given the US's bullying and thuggish tactics, subordinating other nations in the process, that it is indeed still an empire, although not as strong as it once was since it is now owned primarily by China. I was simply responding to the idiot American;s remarks that he hates when people call the US a bullying empire, when that is hardly the case these days. Mostly simply refer to America, as that nation with all the idiots and bombs.

And this dynamic has tentacles in the present dynamic with chavez , an avowed marxist and neo communist whose country is falling apart , spreading his bullying imperialism around south america, or dont stupid bitches like you know he sent suitcases of money to candidates and supports farc?

after the statistics i brought in, listening to idiots like you just makes me laugh. you are a f**king joke.

yeah, bushes iraq sucks...islamic fundamentalist pricks who think sharia law whould be everywhere and have started conflicts all over the world, now in africa more than ever, are worse

For starters my PATRTIOT TEABAGING American, you need to write in complete sentences. Your syntax and grammar are atrocious making any thought you might have impenetrable. Right now the only thing you are producing is a turret induced stream of consciousness which strikes out in more directions than the flora coming out of a chiopet.

You started spewing 1950's (yet reworked for today's right wing madmen) COMMIE nonsense and you were called on it; now you are back tracking and raising the other US created BOGEYMAN to try and deflect attention from your earlier political fopaw. But I'll say it again, the biggest danger to most around the world today are the one's that I mentioned in my earlier post. Greedy corporations and the CHURCH. I don't fear ISLAMIC TERRORISTS (ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh). They've managed how many deaths in the Americas? Now how many deaths has America achieved on their lands? Iraq has passed 1.000.000. Whose the terrorist?

...check your service provider if links not available. Otherwise, it's your faulty input that gives you no output.

What is missing from most discussion of state-sponsored, corporate-sponsored, and other acts of terror and terrorists is who financed these events and people. Isn't that a wonderful picture of Roosevelt, Stalin, and Churchill? At the end of World War 1 Germany was defeated and broke...guess who 'financed' Hitlers blitkreig, Panzers, and genocide? The British and American 'opium trade' addicted more than 20 million Chinese. Mao slaughtered every one of them he could find. China would not be where it is today challenging the West in economics, technology, and militarily if he had not killed them. There would have been no 'Great Leap Forward' without the Long March, But then there would have been no America without the "Trail of Tears" and the American Civil War.
I endorse none of it!!! I recognise it for what it is, offer my opinion, and move on.
This I do know; after six(6) centuries of genocide, slavery, invasion, economic and military domination by the Empire, the "revolutionary" forces around the world have matured enough to challenge the "reactionary" forces of Western Imperialism. It has been a bloody trail costing up to half a billion lives world-wide in the 20th Century alone, just to get where the victims of these practices are today.
In too many instances the Imperialist forces have used drugs as WMD to destabilise and control societies. Some Revolutionary forces, by economic and philosophical("By Any Means Necessary!") necessity, have also adopted this practice to poison the minds and hearts of the people. It is a weapon of continuous torture of the mind and the society. My views on drug policy have been clearly stated on this site so I decline to expand on this as a crime against humanity by anyone who perpetrates such acts.
Make no mistake, it is only revolution that has expanded freedom and opportunity for all in the developing world. Whether that revolution was the Eastern Europeans again the Russians or the Latin American revolution against the Americans. Some would prefer that Ghandi had not come along and freed his people from English domination. Some would prefer that Mandela and the ANC had been defeated by a "coalition" of imperial forces. Counting the lives lost, even under the immense military disadvantages, is an exercise in despair instead of a celebration of the defeat of imperialism and the freedom of the people. That celebration has yet to be earned by those in revolt against genocide, tyranny, torture, and poverty, but the future is brighter for all the lives lost in humanities journey to freedom.

like i give a flying f**k what you think of my syntax, syntax this, bitch...

if you are from a country in europe , most countries there got their bowels churned out by the nazis, most counries in the world have violent histories

iraq has enormous violence in its history. sunnis have been bombing and killing shiites long before the usa got involved, i mean before reagon...

you think the statistics about communism isnt relavant to today? that is why dipsticks like you can kiss my ass. most all the real dirt atributed to the usa happened in the cold war, when it did get involved dirtily with various things , combining with people who just didnt want the statistics that are plain as day for anyone to see that i brought in. sure vietnam was bad and dirty and wasted huge lives, but many other places in the world fought communism and didnt get swallowed up by it.only punk bitches cant look at the big picture, like you , and not have an understanding what a dirty f**king world it really is.

yeah, f**k maddof and greedy bankers, only a s**t head like you would associate me with some tea party republican ass holes. i just see the truth and dont get suckered in to thinking the usa is the big evil empire in the planet today.

as slimy as maddof is and creepy and stupidly imperialistic bush and company are, there are worse things happening than them in the world now.ever hear of the congo , bitch? you know the material you are using for your computor is creating a mini holocaust and middle passage right there...but people like you dont give a f**k, you just say maddoff , or , the usa or what ever your peabrain perceives to be worse than the real inhumanity and totalitarianism or fundimentalism going on in the world

but you go ahead and think that, idiot, you too, cata, but i brought in the truth, and that is the other half to all the bulls**t you bitches say about the usa, the half that tried to put their will, whether naziism,or communism, or islamic fundamentalism up everyones ass , and are responsible for the same death that you blame the usa for...and many many more, including just plain eliminating millions of peolple...or even executing a few innocent protesters...

you could f**k yourself in the ass and releive the preasure, it might help your pain
Latin Americans & Iberians For Liberty - Deterrence of the GLOBAL NEO-SOCIALIST DECEPTION

It is amusing how cynic are the undertone of remarks from Leftwing agents who persistently accuse or imply that the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland represent an “Evil Empire”… How Blind about North Korea or forgetful of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics must one be to indefatigably keep on vomiting insults against the sole bastions which remain standing in defense of LIBERTY, in a world infected by globalist contributors of massive amounts of disinformation in partnership with Bolivarian Propaganda and the Sao Paulo Forum? Perhaps Mr. Cata is a secret contributor of this INFAMOUS Forum, and (acting under advisement from the venomous COHA) ascertains that the extremel left’s voice remains stead & strong NOT ONLY in Brazzil.,com but also accros various Brazilian and other Latin American Blogs. Indeed, as a member of the Massive Resurgent Neo-Socialist Global movement, you must be one of the contributors with the valiant taks of “misinforming” (rather DIS-informing) various audiences in North/Latin America thereby assisting the dangerous Sao Paulo Forum (where the criminal liars from PT, the Terrorist murderer from FARC, the oppressive Cuban Communist Party, the exceedingly corrupt Argentine (K-family), as well as the malignant Bolivarian filth from Caracas, La Paz, Quito & Managua) in forging ahead in pursuit the group’s ULIMATE GOAL: The establishment of U.R.S.L.A (União das Republicas Socialistas Latino Americas) with the capital in SUCRE.

Furthermore, if this unfortunate malignant Forum was allowed to exist (Founded by the decrepit Fidel Castro & the semi-illiterate Lula in 1994), due to the nature of free societies which mercifully also permit (sooner/later) that many secrets be uncovered & broadcast, one must make sure that such mechanisms which permit the functioning of these plotting subversives cease to exist don’t we? YES, WE DO!

Please note that the good old Augustus NO LONGER barks without support, for he is now backed by DOZENS of Latin American Allies in Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile and Colombia ALONG WITH supporters located throughout the Brazilian territory ALING WITH KEY contacts in Lisbon & Madrid – some of which in places you would not imagine – vigilantly work NIGHT & DAY with the primary goal of warning Latin Americans, disseminating as widely as we can, about the EXTENT, COMPLEXITY and ORGANIZATION of the Deceptive Global Leftwing movement, its cells, and supporters who have infiltrated every single Western European organization, the United Nations and even the Democratic Party of the United States. You've gone from COMMIES, to Islamic fundamentalists, to the Congo to assuming I'm European (which to many mmmeerrikkans might as well be a single country). My point was, and still is, fools like you toss around the word COMMIE today like we're still in the throws of the cold war, with Reagan dyslexing on TV and Thatcher nodding with approval, as well as a school girl crush. You foam at the mouth when Cuba or Venezuela is mentioned, and then ignore the fact that the biggest communist nation in the world OWNS your ass. Where are the free thinking Americans? Obviously, they aren't EX PATS in Rio. hahahahahah

the congo? you dont want to admit your stupid attention on only the hemmoroids of the united states is contributing to the death and slavery of people from the congo?

Can you try that again, and this time have it make sense? I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out what you are on about. And once again, OLD CRACKERS trying to sound hip, simply sound pathetic .... BIOOOTCH! hahahahahahahahah

Now, take your blood pressure medicine, have a skol, stare at the beach for a while, collect your thoughts, find a computer with SPELL CHECK, proof read your rants, and then respond with something at least at a high school level. Right now, you are simply embarrassing yourself.

Dear Augustus,
one must make sure that such mechanisms which permit the functioning of these plotting subversives cease to exist don’t we?

I have no desire to remove the disappointing rants of apologists for the inhumane profiteering which is and has been the agenda of The Empire. These imperialists have no other defense against the truth other than the destruction of the truth-teller and we have discussed this many times when there are assassinations and gagging of a free press in Brazil, Iran, Russia, North Korea, China, Cuba, and others. You see, in the US they just manipulate the truth and dress it in flashy colors and music. That is what worries them about "Avatar"; Mr. Cameron has flipped the script using flashy colors and music to expose the greatest threat to humanity on the planet. It sends a message to the perpetrators of "Shock and Awe" that cannot be ignored and that message is, "Your going to lose!" This is dangerous speech since it encourages the belief that people can overcome tyranny and exploitation by the Empire to enrich themselves at the expense of others. So it becomes imperative that they ensure "plotting subversives cease to exist".
You can be assured that I have not the pleasure of affiliation with any organisation which you mentioned, but if you find common purpose in my statements then I can only say that I am flattered to be associated with mainstream Latin American dialogue.
smilies/cool.gif
In a world community based on individual and collective freedom the Empire could not exist. The absolute need for one nation to consume 20-25% of the worlds resources is an addiction that the United States cannot sustain in a free world. They are broke, divided, militarily depleted, and one step away from economic collapse. Their future, at this, moment is being decided by people in Beijing and other foreign capitals. Like a wounded animal they will lash out at the weakest areas on earth where they can run and still maintain their hegemony and profitability. The only region large enough with the people and resources for their next economic expansion has to be Latin America. Doesn't matter what is said one way or the other about who is more evil than the other; "they have to have it" to maintain their economic and military superiority. They will kill or corrupt anyone in the way of that goal. You see how they are "trapped" by simple truth?

You are right and many Brasilians feel that way too. The problem is we do not have alternative candidates that put the interest of the nation above theirs. Don´t forget that it is fashionable for all of them to claim that they belong to the "left", fought the "Dictatorship" and therefore they are the real saviors of "Democracy".

I believe I have discussed AFRICOM, the new US military command for Africa several times in this forum. Although militarily pressed in 2 wars, economically struggling to repair their economy, and faced with mounting discontent at home, the US still has the absolute necessity, for the first time in its history, to embark on military
adventurism on the African continent. This is where the destiny of US expansionism and European colonial tyranny meet to form the Empire. The European axis of the Empire can no longer support the military requirements of their continued exploitation of the continent. So here come the Americans to prop up the infrastructure of what's left of African colonialism. This must be done or Europe is a hollow shell with bankers simply counting each others money.
The Empire is being squeezed by every defection of once entirely corruptible African leaders who would rather do business with China and others. Make no mistake that this military command will get what it needs to keep the Empires domination of the continent intact, regardless of the cost to the American people, This is as important as the Cold War with regard to the economic security
of Europe. Remember, "there is profit in chaos". It will not be necessary to use these forces except to destabilise any African country that attempts to change the status quo.
The American side of the equation in Latin America begins with Plan Columbia and the seven(7) bases(o sete encardido irmãs). These dual objectives in Africa and Latin America are critical to the agenda of imperialism for the 21st Century.
African governments are essentially powerless to prevent another round of chaos and conflict on the continent and this is why the re-integration and rehabilitation of Libya is so important to the Empires plans in Africa.(Do your research!)
Latin America is in a different position which calls for a more direct military and armed involvement. The US cannot be seen to directly attack progressive elected governments so they are training indigenous agents at the seven Columbian bases which are also hosting European and Israeli agents with interest in Latin American affairs. These operations cannot be carried out from US soil because the US must be able to deny involvement in assassinations, drug shipments, and destabilisation schemes.
Really, this is all quite transparent and although there is much concern on both continents to this flagrant build-up of military capability there is no consensus on a strategy to prevent the next round of destabilization, tyranny, and exploitation of the people on both continents.
In all these plans, and in all the money spent, the prize is Brazil. Without Brazil and its economic and diplomatic reach, Plan Columbia fails. Brazil is not necessary for the operation of the plan, but it must not become an obstacle to the US agenda.
João, given your enthusiasm for the dollar, you must believe that this plan will work for the Empire. To tell the truth, I am not hopeful of a peaceful outcome the more I know about the "7 dirty little sisters", but peace and prosperity, like freedom are purchased with the blood of patriots and I am not naive to think this time will be any different.smilies/angry.gif

The Failed Promises of Communism and their "False Prophets"
written by Augustus, February 02, 2010
Firstly I must dissipate dismay, outrage and disgust in connection with the cynic manner by which the (nearly criminal) sponsors of totalitarian philosophies display whenever boasting the alleged merits of their devious doctrine. Yet, several fellow defenders of Liberty from time to time invariably wonder about their ability to engage deceptive, scheming charades, to convey a false sense of justice and equality, and thereby persuading relatively intelligent, educated individuals to embrace such causes or otherwise provide support for
the implementation of a vile tyrannical political system? How are they able to “Live With Themselves” given the extent of the deliberately deception which is systematically provided to future victims?

Consequently information must be adequately provided, warning the most innocent sectors of a nation’s population about the real face of these “Liberation Prophets of Doom” who advocate the merits of a putrid, inefficient regime without disclosing their inescapably totalitarian structure which inherently contains poisoned seeds which could not germinate anything short of ever-lasting fear, never-ending oppression, total censorship, and shortages of goods and services.

Because well intended humanitarians & idealistic intellectuals fail to extrapolate the cruelty & malevolence bound to emerge from concentration of power within potentially malignant oligarchies (possibly composed by deranged individuals), they are often lured to support deceptive “vanguard parties” which, once in power would not hesitate to torture, murder or exile some of their very members – long identify as possible candidates for subsequent dissent. Thus their naïveté (or should one just say overwhelming stupidity) triggers the enslavement of their innocent compatriots, ruin their very families and turn their lives into “living hell”.

As a result, despite my certainty that the educated citizens of the Free World are aware of these heinous crimes – which were seldom investigated, published or punished – I shall always take every opportunity, at any given forum to remind its participants of the callous atrocities wrought by the curse of Marxism-Leninism! Not unlike a malignant virus, once the “so-called communist” infection is released upon formerly free societies, sooner rather than later the world witnesses, in sheer dismay, previously vibrant communities being transformed into collective jails of misery and despair, which are frequently reflected in the eyes of their victims (such as oppressed Cuban people today).

I am between Jose Serra and Marina da Silva. I think they are good administrators. Marina seems to be honest.

There is a carioca funk song that used to play a lot in Brazil, I don't know if you remember, it goes like this: "Ta dominado, tudo dominado" Trans.: "Is dominated, everything is dominated" I think it was from "Pavilhao 9" or "Racionais M6". This song was from many years ago was already saying what asp has been saying all along, crime, drugs, (CV) Comando Vermelho, (PCC) Primeiro Comando da Capital taking over. Now, I cannot help when I think about PT and its crooks, they are dominating Brazil. They are infiltrating in all areas of the Brazilian society; education, justice, supreme court... it is like cancer.

Just listen to the pompous whining and cringing of the brainwashed right wing masses, here. You scream that Chavez is a threat to democracy, yet the US has invaded two sovereign countries over the last decade and killed upwards of one million of their citizens, including children. The barbarity of US soldiers is exemplified in photos of them laughing while torturing Iraqis, as well as the infamous Youtube video of one solider tossing a puppy over a mountain (I guess that puppy was a terrorist). Actually, there are myriad documentaries out there today showing just how barbaric US soldiers are; and they are TRAINED TO BE THAT WAY.

One Nation was invaded under the guise of GETTING OSAMA (FAIL!) and the OTHER Nation was bombed back to Mesopotamian times under the hyperbolic pretense that if nothing were done America would see the "MUSHROOM CLOUD" on her shores. Another STRETCH of the right wing's vivid imagination. Since THOSE lies are now widely acknowledged by people with functioning synapses, the US spin machine is in overdrive to create OTHER bogeymen around the world. Hugo Chavez? A clown. Nothing MORE than a political sideshow, spun up to be the next "Dr. EVIL" to get truck-stop patrons seething with rage about places they can't find on maps. That way, they won't dwell and strain their limited mental capacities to see how phucked up Iraq and Afghanistan really are.

Tony Blair is currently being investigated regarding his over-enthusiastic support of the US war machine re: Iraq. The British are not as sheepish as Americans. They want answers. In America, of course, any mention of investigating Bush is met with the same ilk of sophomoric shrills you see on this site: "You're not a patriot!" "America is the world's police." "FREEDOM!" "Beat the commies!" "Islamo fascists." ALL POPPYc**kS.

The biggest terrorist threat to America this year was some punk trying to light his underwear on fire.

This is no defense of Communism or Marxism or terrorism, although most will read it that way. The blinders you have been forced to wear have a very narrow view with which they let you see the world. I'm simply acknowledging that these two political philosophies TODAY are about as dangerous as a kitten in a wool shop and as for the ISLAMIC THREAT. With over 1 billion Muslims, if they really wanted to "take over", they'd certainly do so in a display much more epic than an 18 year old kid striking match heads towards his skivvies. Heck, Osama is concerned about global warming now? hahhahaha

The TRUE aggressors, TODAY, those who really bully, really kill in numbers in the THOUSANDS, who manipulate and lie are the US and the corporations that RUN the US. And you've been taught that it is OK.

Oliver North, a convicted FELON of the US, sold arms to IRAN (heck, imagine the indignation of the right if this were Al Gore) to fund a war in Nicaragua (And if ANYONE wants a history on the US in central and south America, I suggest you broaden you reading to books written outside of the US). Today, Olly is a FOX NEWS media darling. Considered a PATRIOT! G Gordon Liddy. Another CONVICT propped up as DEFENDER OF FREEDOM. After a while, Americans have been trained to ignore brutal and illegal acts as long as the end justifies the means even if those ends have been greatly exaggerated and distorted. Torture, lies, illegal detainment, invading sovereign nations, killing chilren, hanging presidents, dead women, this is all OK for Ma n Pa kettle in Utah in this day and age, because HECK, that's just what America does. "It's all for Freedom MA, we give democracy to the world"

Sorry all you old men raised in the 50s. All that evil commie talk today is meaningless. Even those on the left laugh at kids in Che Guevara tshirts. I also yawn when I hear Americans go on about "terrorists". Yes, 911 was a catastrophic day, but Americans have abused and exploited that day to no end. Enough.

I don't fear terrorists anymore. Nope, the only ones who can really screw me, those whom I should be afraid of, are CRIMINALS (and no one seems to be talking about them these days)and greedy CORPORATIONS and Financial institutions, oh, and the phone company. I'm not even worried about the US where I AM, BUT, and this is a big but, I can empathize with those nations currently having to deal with 20 year old uneducated racist steroid fed idiots with guns (and a license to do just about ANYTHING) kicking in doors everyday. That's not COMMIES doing that! That's AMERICANS.

Sure, if you want to compare it with what was done under Stalin, then there is no debate. But NEWS FLASH. Stalin is dead! Has been for some time. Resurrecting his image to defend the brutality of the US today is simply repugnant.

And you shall have more Iraq/Afghan veterans entering your country with rep**ations and credentials to join your security services. They will come with many dollars that they accumulated in service to "Democratic values". In FACT, since you are too stupid, ignorant, and lazy to take care of issues peacefully and with respect instead of lies and corruption, Brazil has hired Rudy Guiliani as security consultant for the Olympics. You would think that he single-handedly prevented the heinous 9/11 terrorist attack on New York. This only exposes the bankruptcy of your present leadership in this area, but believe me Americans are not fooled by Mr. Guiliani and his corrupt associates lke Berny Kerik, who he tried to slip into the American security apparatus. Do not worry, soon he will show you how to clean your streets of FARC drug dealers and you can pay him by the head for the "false positives" he gives you for additional propaganda purposes. Happy Days Again, no?
Let's see if you have the intellect and spine to agree with this;
Brazil should strictly prohibit "all" foreigners from carrying or trafficking in arms. Making it illegal for a foreigner to carry, sell, or buy a weapon in Brazil.
This will encourage growth in the Brazilian security services, save money by forcing foreign corporations to hire Brazilian citizens, and prevent the growth of private "foreign" paramilitaries such as the situation in Columbia. *** Why are those Columbian mercenaries in Iraq and Afghanistan when they are clearly needed at home to fight the FARC? *** The logic escapes me, but that's just me ...

Amusing that we should agree because that is exactly what has been done in Haiti and recently in Honduras. If the Democracy you so cherish is such a wonderful thing why do they lead with deception and guns. Oh yeah, Democracy the elixir of the gods. I seem to remember Iraqis swallowing this "cure for all mankind" only to find themselves in Saddams murderous grip. I seem to remember Afghans fighting to overcome Communist aggression only to be deceived and abandoned by proponents of Democracy. If memory serves me right Vietnam was illegally, immorally, and barbarically invaded to "beat back the Communists!". I seem to remember the racist regime in South Africa, supported by the Empire and their Israeli pit-bull. Somewhere I know I read about the Latin America generalissimos, in Brazil and throughout the southern hemisphere, who killed and tortured their people under the direction and assistance of these proponents of Democracy. It is nothing to these people that more than a MILLION Iraqis have perished under the banner of "Democratic values"(once they got over the WMD lie) to replace a dictator installed by these snake oil sellers with the promise of Democracy. The people of Chile should celebrate the rule of Pinochet, another thug and gangster supported by the proponents of Democracy. Let's not forget the Iran-Contra affair when the CIA was exposed trafficking in drugs and guns to prevent the Nicaraguan freedom. Yes, the Nicaraguans are poor, but they now have peaceful elections by people educated enough to know snake oil when they see it. I am sure the Empire cannot wait to destabilise that country again with agents trained at the "seven dirty sisters" bases in Columbia.
Maybe it will only be when the world sees that Uribe is just another Saddam or Pinochet that the truth will reveal itself, but by then the little wars of destabilisation will create just the intended chaos to allow the enormous profits to be drained out of your people and economies. All to the benefit of the Empires merchants of death and their corrupt allies, paid to pacify and enslave the people.

So, you want what the Americans have with their "Democratic values", flashy media manipulations, and civil liberties? I can understand how it is more attractive than Brazil, and I can't argue with the millions of Brazilians in America and those 'still' trying to get here even after the inevitable collapse of the US economy. Now, of course, the repatriation of Brazilians from many countries(see Japan) exposes the false promise of mass consumerism as a cure for real freedom. The American people are just beginning to understand that they are becoming indentured servants to feed the appetite of the greedy imperialists. What do you call it when you are thrown into debt to such an extent that your 'grandchildren'(50 year bonds) will still be paying for the chains the Empire has exported around the world. It may appear to be a insignificant cost, but you even own money to the Communists and they are not likely to forgive or forget. So you see, you have simply chose to support the lingering death of servitude to the immediate death of tyranny. American democracy has been hijacked by the capitalists, militarists, and their greedy bankers. Thankfully, you can sit here in America and watch the results of what is about to happen in Latin America, but do not try to promote a Democracy that is just as deadly, just as corrupt, and just as dangerous to individual freedom and liberty. You can blame everything on Communists and leftists or petty tyrants and corrupt politicians, but the children of Vietnam and the children of Iraq and the children of Haiti will not be fooled that it was the Communists who came with guns and bombs and deadly tyrannical corruption. While I respect your position and perspective, historically you are naive to the real danger to the US expansionist agenda in Latin America. Indeed Plan Columbia is the first phase in the new colonization of Latin America. Many innocent Latin Americans will die on both sides, but make no mistake the objective and mission is to extract every sweat of labor and every valuable resource before they are done. Then, like Afghans and Haitians, they will drop you on the trash heap *** just like they do with their own people ***

PART-1: WHY WE FIGHT BOLIVARIAN SOCIALISM // Latin Americans & Iberians For Liberty VS. Marxism-Leninism
written by Augustus, February 03, 2010
Because totalitarian systems are devoid of “systematic checks and balances”, exclude and opposition, while manipulating information (via censorship), they were in a position to control vast segments of their populations and engaged them into following through specific tasks (at gun-point if so required). Similar to Nazi Germany, the (single) parties holding sway of the governmental apparatus of each Marxist-Leninist state (the Soviet, Chinese, Cambodian & Vietnamese Communist parties) had a Totalitarian GRIP upon their societies, by virtue of the inherently unchallenged control of a single political party which imposed upon each nation ONE VOICE utilizing the tools of censorship & direction of broadcast contents (Press, Radio, TV), thereby imposing strict IDEOLOGICAL indoctrination of their (victim) citizens, without toleration of any opposition whatsoever to previously specified, inflexible Party lines. Failure of adherence to this position automatically generated severe punishment of dissidents along with blackmail (threat to cause harm and/or to imprison family members) or, to torture loved ones, without any sense of bare human decency, in order to impose their will and/or extract vital information, culminating with a speedy (unfair trail) of “suspect traitors of Socialism”. In essence, there was (and still there is) no limits upon what totalitarian regimes are capable of accomplishing, given the utterly authoritarian, malignant, and inhuman nature of their political regimes.

Quite similarly, Fundamentalist Dogmatic regimes – especially those in Islam Fundamentalist States (such as Iran) not surprisingly pursue a fairly similar Modus Operandi (of their natural atheist opponents in Communist states) whereby the difference lies upon the underlying core of the doctrine: whereas Islamists follow “Divine Dictates” as outlined in their Koran (which actually sanctions murder of the infidel and of fellow Muslims accused of Apostasy - converts to other religions), as well as widespread use of torture of perpetrators of “Blasphemy” (insults against Islam). In essence, whereas Marxist-Leninist polities oppress/torture/maim/kill in the name of a Harsh Political Ideology, their Islamic counterparts pursue/perform exactly the same atrocities, but in the name of some Divinity in conformity with their dogmatic beliefs and procedures which they naturally claim having the divine right to impose upon ALL OTHERS.

Without any attempt to ignore historical atrocities which have also been committed by various Western powers albeit historically placed further back in time, in relatively lower numbers, and often under duress, against implacable enemies, it must be noted that such sordid “deed” have sooner or later emerged, and subsequently investigated, with steps taken in the attempt to blame and punish those found to be responsible thereof. The pursuit of justice in the West, combined with the avoidance of finger pointing and misinforming the public (via DIS-informative propaganda which is customary of defenders of totalitarianism ANYWHERE) is generally taken for granted, for they are possible by virtue of the very nature of open societies (which contain loyal opposition, a voracious free press, and the impact of Public Opinion). Together, these additional obstructions to authoritarian control and manipulation act as yet another preventive measure to the very excesses which are commonly used (at will) by the implacable totalitarian oppressors attempting to undermine LIBERTY.
(PART-2 FOLLOWS)
PART-2: WHY WE FIGHT BOLIVARIAN SOCIALISM // Latin Americans & Iberians For Liberty VS. Marxism-Leninism
written by Augustus, February 03, 2010
In this connection, because of the existence of a Freedom of speech, Free Press and Public opinion, the cynic and deceptive defenders of Marxism-Leninism (or whichever absurd they may chose to call themselves at any given time – e.g. “Bolivarians”), lacking any sense of ethics, integrity and honesty, regularly make use of the very freedoms which their hypocritical system aims to suppress. Indeed, the extremely clever members of totalitarian Intelligence agencies utilize a particularly DEVIOUS but effective device, namely: DIS-information, in strict conformity with classical Lenin directives (from the 1920’s) and Osama Bin Ladin’s religious commands, whereby various myths of “Conspiracies” (e.g.the absurd claim that “9/11 was an inside job”) are concocted to persuade citizens of Western societies to turn against their very own governments. The success of such malignant theorists and their agents (naïve leftist/green sympathizers a.k.a Liberal activists) is attributed by yet another CRUCIAL clever tactic: the amalgamation/combination of major FALSE data along with several relatively accurate information. Under these circumstances, the “conspiracy theorist” will provide widely know details vis-à-vis certain illegal acts/activities proven to include the involvement of Western agents along with the BIG LIE which is fabricated by themselves in order to enhance their credibility among the general population.

The above information is particularly relevant to my International Group of Friends and Allies in light of the monstrous hidden agenda we have uncovered by many us (and our contacts throughout the Western Hemisphere) whereby the Sao Paulo Forum, the Brazilian Workers Party, the criminal Venezuelan dictator and his gang of terrorist allies (FARC), whereby the socialist leading governments of ALL LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES (with the exception of Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru and more recently CHILE which has escaped the curse of socialism) are actively engaged in an evil secret plot to bring about what would largely become “The USRLA” (The Union of Socialist Latin American Republics), which, if successful would largely oppress the region along the lines of the former USSR (there is, if those in my growing group fail to persuade our respective militaries to make a stop to these potential murderers).

I hope this relatively long, but serious and well intended essay will shed light into what is at stake and the reason why the LATIN AMERICANS & IBERIANS FOR LIBERTY will NOT permit corrupt, deviant leftist to get away with the lies and venom which they customarily vomit while “preaching” the values of socialism to unsuspecting audiences across the Free World.

Sincerely,
Augustus Aurelianus Severus

Indeed Plan Columbia is the first phase in the new colonization of Latin America. Many innocent Latin Americans will die on both sides, but make no mistake the objective and mission is to extract every sweat of labor and every valuable resource before they are done.

I don't think Adriana A has seen it.

LENIN ADVICE: WESTERN MINDS CANNOT UNDERSTAND DECEPTION
Lenin advised the Communists that they must be prepared to 'resort to all sorts of stratagems, maneuvers, illegal methods, evasions and subterfuge' to achieve their objectives. This advice was given on the eve of his reintroduction of limited capitalism in Russia in his work 'Left Wing Communism, an Infantile Disorder'. 'PERESTROIKA' WAS AN APPLICATION OF LENIN'S ADVICE

THE ESSENCE OF 'PERESTROIKA':AN APPLICATION OF 1920S' LENINISM
The new method penetrates the facade, tears the verbal mask off 'perestroika' and reveals its true meaning- which Gorbachev and 'glasnost' have failed to do. Lenin's
teaching and the experience of the New Economic Policy [NEP] are keys to understanding the essence of 'perestroika' and the reasons for Gorbachev's downgrading and renunciation of elements of ideological orthodoxy like the class struggle and his emphasis on common interests and the benefits of close cooperation.

The only way I could think your theory could make sense is in regard to the U.S. response to Honduras; their slow, and rash response when Zelaya attempted to violate the constitution. that really got me thinking why they took too long to read the Honduras Constitution and realise that what the military did was not a coup, they were just protecting their Democracy. R.Azevedo was one of the few who saw it.

That Brazil under Lula responded the way it did was sadly expected but the U.S. response was a surprise. Maybe they did not want to intervine, maybe they want to change the views Latin Americans have about them. I think the U.S. is just watching. It is sort of "either way is fine with us" because the new socialism-comunism as it is in Russia and China loves the Capital, right? So I think -and I hope I am wrong- the U.S. is just playing along.

That is what scares me, the feeling that we are ALONE. I hope I am wrong. The feeling that we are fighting two forces, two fronts. It is like the people in the Favelas in Rio (I mean the not corrupted people), they have to protect themseves against the drug dealers and the police brutal force.

My point is, I care about my Country's Democracy, Lloyd. That is all I care, and Lula and his crooks do not represent that. You guys can discuss History here as much as you like (And I think is valid) but we should concentrate our forces here right now, this is the defining moment (something like Augustus and others are doing. We have an election coming up). I don't know if the people attacking asp live in Brazil or read Brazilian news in Portugues to know what is really going on in here. The article in this thread is about PNDH3, this is the first open attempt to destroy Democracy as it entails: control of the free press; restrain religious freedom; change the concept of private property; community organizations that will have a saying over judicial decisions, or even a priority over the same decisions; and more...

Let me tell you one image that I have carried in my mind for tweenty somenthing years (I am 35 y.o.). This image is of a twelve(?!)-year-old girl (me).

I went to school this morning and I am noticing that my teachers are very excited, and very happy, I heard that we are going to live school early today, I hope my mom knows about that. After a while I am called out by the principal, and guess about what? My mom. She came to pick me up even earlier, she too was very excited and happy. We did not have a car so we always took the bus. On this particular day, my mom said to me "I want to show you something very important". She took me to a big avenue and I saw cars honking, and hundreds of stickers and flyers on the streets and cars, and hundreds of people as well. Do you know what it was Lloyd? It was the most peaceful, political, demonstration in the History of Brasil, it took place all over the country; It was "DIRETAS JA". Augustos and other can translate it better, but I will say the term meant, direct (open), democratic, elections as soon as possible.

You guys can talk and talk about what Democracy is and what is not, but I prefer to keep this image in my mind forever, that is, my dear mom, holding my hands tight, with a face full of joy, excitment, and hope for a better Brasil.

I am not disregarding your guys academic views on democracy, but sometimes experiences, and images are more powerful and important than anything else.

Peace!

P.S. I cannot believe PT is close to destroy this.

Adriana & Friends,

Regarding tomorrow´s march in Venezuela, we all hope and pray things do not get out of hand. The advantage these KIDS have on their side is when they are joined by tens of thousands of people. I read at http://www.globovision.com/ that there will be two marches ¿???, I hope the other is not from Mr. Danger (the godfather) Chavez´s truthful pit-bulls.

Regarding the intervention in Haiti from the US marines and so forth, there is no need stating that someone had to restrain the masses from chaos. That my friends, only through a corrupted eye is seen as an invasion of any kind. As did in the past, time will tell these people wrong again.

My friends Augustus, fabianoasc and LatinAmerican2010 have posted real evidence of the linkage between ideological communism and today´s under-covered neo-socialism of the XXI Century. I hope viewers take their time to read and watch the videos recommended.

Regarding dictatorships like in Nicaragua before 1979 by Somoza & more recently by Noriega in Panama, were to me truthful examples of corruption and tyranny. But for what is worth saying, Socialism in any shape, form and colour is by far much worse as it not only destroys the mind & soul of the individual, it also spreads devastation to what people have accomplished throughout the years.

Esteemed Old Friend Joao (who had forgotten about me)
Needless to say, I am delighted that my "amusing moments" spent at this blog did not escape your memory, although for a couple of seconds I feared it might have... smilies/grin.gif
Naturally I am always happy to exchange information with your good-self and greatly missed our discussions; yet in full awareness that you hectic schedule precludes you from too much distraction from keeping an eye in this excellent blog.

Interestingly, despite your guidance and council, as you can certify I have manage to expand upon the activities you frequently instigated, perhaps in many ways exceedingly so. In addition, I was equally fortunate to have made the acquaintance of a particularly wonderful group of loyal friends, particularly Pancho, who in many ways remind me of you, discretely attempting to contain my occasional emotional overreactions.

Regarding your query regarding the "Iberians" portion of our group, please note that it has a two-fold purpose: 1) Because Portugal & Spain are the mother countries of our beloved Latin American nations, it seemed quite appropriate that the participated in our activities, providing valuable council as they see fit and as required. 2) Although the main concern of the group is the Communist Threat to Latin America, we do not lose sight of the serious danger threatening not only the Iberian peninsula but also the entirety of Western Europe, namely the never ending pervasive Islamisation of the birth of Western Civilization resulting from a deliberate agenda to dominate from within while attempting to spread their horrific and dangerous beliefs in order to impact the very fabric of these Western societies. Indeed, in many ways these irreconcilable groups – Secular Communists and Islamic Fundamentalists – appear to have stricken a temporary truce, in order to jointly destroy their common main opponent: The Western Civilization – thereby deferring their inevitable violent conflict to a future time when they would have split the remains of our civilization.
Thanks for your contributions and to the warm welcome provided to my good friends

DEAR FRIENDS PANCHO & FABIANO

Firstly I would like to thank you for the time and effort to participating in these important discussions, since, as already mentioned in my Group Message this morning, we must remember that our battle should not in any way be confined to our mini-universe of YouTube, for the implacable enemy is present everywhere, like the fee on rats during the Bubonic plague in Europe in the fourteenth century. Indeed, the massive Marxist-Leninist YouTube cells, super well organized and disciplined, are undoubted in direct contact with their counterparts at every blog (such as Brazzil.com), at every major broadcast center (such as BBC), as well as International Organizations (such as the United Nations and the Council of Foreign Relations in New York). Engaged in a decades-long, secretive, well-planned and extremely deceptive scheme, they seem to have realized that Trotsky was right after all, for there is no way that their malignant, inefficient, hypocritical and totalitarian socio-political-economic system could prevail unless the entirety of Mankind can be held enslaved under their filthy, murderous grip. As a result, we must remain vigilant and go anywhere, everywhere where our small contribution might make a difference.
Finally, remembering the words set forth by the first Governor of the American State of Virginia, which brightly appear in the very profile of the “Liberty Channel-Canal Liberdad”, I dare repeating “GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!

You guys can discuss History here as much as you like (And I think is valid) but we should concentrate our forces here right now, this is the defining moment (something like Augustus and others are doing. What you cannot understand is that I and my children will "never" experience that moment of "DIRETAS JA".
Now you may say that is what PT is doing since they are Socialists, of whatever persuasion, who are limiting freedom and civil rights. That is a question for Brazilians to decide. What I have attempted to do here is to prevent others; Communists, Cubans, Americans, Venezuelans, or anyone else deciding for the Brazilian people, period!
Now you say Castro has his agents and his FARC buddies all over the streets of Rio, dealing drugs, telling lies, stirring up trouble for everybody. Hmmmm...and this goes on under the nose of the people but since PT is in power they allow it and now want Brazil to be in Cuba's position with respect to a free press. I got that!!! It is something "BRAZIL" can do something about at the election (or do you suspect the 'election' issues we have here in the US?). If you cannot overturn PT in elections, then you want to invite "outsiders" to give you what was denied "by the people". Although of 'similar' ideological persuasion, PT is not dominated by Castro loyalists who would kowtow to Fidel. PT is not dominated by cowards and traitors who would succumb to Russian domination. PT has shown that it can lead nationally and internationally. Lula is PT's first candidate to win the presidency and now he is reported with 80% popularity. So it is easy to see how you are in despair over this issue. What I beg of you is not to invite the devil into your house to exterminate the mouse! When "BRAZILIANS" are tired of PT they will go too, because the people understand now and they will not tolerate tyranny any more in a world where freedom is on the march. Sticks and rocks against guns, all over the world!
My friend Augustus is so proud of his "foreign alliances", but I should just explain to him that he must change minds in Brazil. The foreigners already know what they want out of the deal and it is tempting when they say they can overcome the people and install the guy or lady that you want. Maybe they can...but is it worth the price of death and destruction that they will bring to BRAZIL? Let me tell you, from my perspective PT will destroy itself through corruption with the vast amounts of money entering Brazil from 'every corner of the planet'. The capitalists will fill their pockets so generously that their "brand" will be recognized by "o porco". It is not easy to expose the mouse because of all the "holes in the walls", but you do not burn down your house to exterminate the little monster.
Yes, the ordinary people of Brazil are suffering under an onslaught of drugs and violence perpetrated IMHO by both sides, FARC and CIA...and others. Security forces, without the support of the people, are excessively violent and often corrupt. I understand because at 12 yrs old I lived in a place in the Bronx, NY and it was known as Fort Apache( they made a movie), but it was as bad as Favela or worse; Heroin sold on just about every corner, shooting every day by crims and cops, Mafia, and all the rest of ghetto or favela reality. There were 18 of us in our 'club' in my neighborhood, only 2 of us are alive today; all the others dead too early of the afflictions gathered in the "American society", black and white. Americans have more than 2 million people in prison. More than all the Communist and Socialist nations combined! Now all the time we hear stories of innocent men sentenced to death under American justice. What I have witnessed, and you will never know how personally, is an American system of INJUSTICE. Don't let the US persuade you that they will come to your rescue and restore "DIRETAS JA". They will come and destroy you beautiful country and its people. This is what they do, this is what they have done, presently and historically ... in the face of all argument this is the truth.
Let Brazilians solve Brazil's problems! To invite these Imperialists into your house is a cowardly and traitorous act.
Let Americans solve Americas problems before they dictate to others how their lives should work. But instead of the immense problems facing the American people the US government is building a new AFRICOM military command, seven(7) bases in Columbia. If you associate with these gringos you will not have to worry about PT, or FARC, or Fidel, or Chavez because the "war on drugs" and the "war on terror" will descend upon you, and you know what that means ...

If the US was not as tough as you have mentioned, there would not be a true US of A.
You talk about a huge percentage of people in favor of the PT, is that correct?.

What I have attempted to do here is to prevent others; Communists, Cubans, Americans, Venezuelans, or anyone else deciding for the Brazilian people, period!

the third PNDH is the first real attempt to destroy these rights. Rights that did not existed during dictatorship. This document was introduced over the new year's eve, it got everybody by surprised, but luckly some sectors of the Brazilian society saw it. Moreover, Lula said he signned but he did not know the content. WTF? How a president can sign such thing and not know the content? Dilma was responsible for the document, to "inspection" it(for the lack of a better word). The press is afraid Lloyd, because of this supposily 70% approval. The few people who criticised Lula got smashed. This is not right.

I got that!!! It is something "BRAZIL" can do something about at the election (or do you suspect the 'election' issues we have here in the US?). If you cannot overturn PT in elections, then you want to invite "outsiders" to give you what was denied "by the people".

No, I do not want ousiders whatsoever, If in my post I implied that it is wrong.

PT has shown that it can lead nationally and internationally. Lula is PT's first candidate to win the presidency and now he is reported with 80% popularity.

Here you don't know. It is very well-known the admiration Brasilians socialists and communists have for Fidel. They are friends, the model in Cuba is the model to be followed by all Latin American countries. Pt cannot lead the nation. Brazil's expendeture is increasing, because they need to pay the favors. You think that an uneducated population which is the majority can understand that?
When "BRAZILIANS" are tired of PT they will go too, because the people understand now and they will not tolerate tyranny any more in a world where freedom is on the march. Sticks and rocks against guns, all over the world!

Then, will be too late. I wish I was as optimistic as you are. Lula is doing now what Chavez did in the beginning. Lula got an good economy going together with a friendly international market, for eight years. Even me could be a popular president like that, everything in my favor. But here is the tricky part; it is on the news, the tremendously amount of expenduture from the goverment. You could say investment, but they are over paid, investments that cost the double or the triple that would normally cost otherwise. There was a judicial order a couple weeks ago to stop some of this construction or work so they could be investigated, possibly for corruption. Did you think Lula care? No. It was a judicial order and he just laughed at it, and sent a counter order to resume work. Why is that? He has to pay his "people", he has to make everyone happy (businessman, labor union, student union, politicians, and so on and so forth). Now, my question, for how long he can keep this going? Look at Chavez? Look at the economy there. That is what is going to happen in Brazil as well.
Let Brazilians solve Brazil's problems! To invite these Imperialists into your house is a cowardly and traitorous act.

Again, if in any of my posts I implied that, it is wrong. More than anything I want a clean election and I want to respect the result, but the real question is, do Lula and his crooks want that? I seriously doubt it. And I think Augustus and others here just want to inform about this coming threat to democracy.

I may not have experienced it but I have heard about similar strugles all minorities and certain ethnic groups face here in the U.S. I have taken American Idian Studies class, Latinos and this semester I am taking a class called "Urban Issues of Black Children and Youth". I can honestly say I learned a lot with these great classes and great professors. I am not blind or naive (I am not saying you called me that), I see things. I am lucky for have had access to the information contained in these classes. I live in the U.S. and I pretend to work with children and I need to be prepare to understand where they are coming from; that is the least I can do for them, to know who they are, or at least, try. But again, I just know a little fraction to what you know, I have an IDEA only, nothing more. I am just an observer of the American Culture.
Let Americans solve Americas problems before they dictate to others how their lives should work

I agree 100% with you. Just to clarify one more time. I think in my post I wrote the I feel that we are alone. In any way I implied that Americans need to intervine or help us, this work is for us to do. When I wrote that we are alone, I meant to say that we're or we will battle two forces: first, is Lula and his crooks and PT; second is the people who will take advantage of this situation, internally, and externally. I even gave examples of China and Russia; today, their economic system is capitalism, but their political system is communism. So the external/internal forces in my opinion, today are giving rats to the democracy in Brazil, as long as they can get their share, and a big one. Do you want an example? Two Eropean newspapers elected Lula as the Man of the year, why Lloyd? The Spaniard, I think "EL Paiz" and the French "Le Monde". The Spaniards have invested big in Brasil's telecominication, and the French wants Brazil to buy its Rafales by a value that has caused a lot of argument. Do you see the picture?

One more thing, I think Lula is more capitalist friendly than Serra will ever be. If Serra wins I think he'll put the interest of the country first, and if Dilma wins, she'll do the opposite ( they need money to pay their "people" and make them happy). The prove of this is that when Lula was elected in 2002 for his first term, the international market was worried about what he was going to do; was he going to implement his communist agenda and say bye, bye, market? No he didn't, he kept the model. Now they know him and his agenda, the agenda is to transform Brasil into China, Russia, that is a Capitalist economic system, with a communist political system. It works for them, so why bother with democracy? That is why I said we are alone in this battle.

One last thing, I am not against market or capitalism; the problem with this system is when corruption is involved, like happens in Brasil. If some people think ERON and the housing market and others events represent the worst of Capitalism or the worst of America think twice. Maddof is in jail and others that I cannot recall their names are as well. However, from a Brazilian perspective, in a supposely Dilma's future (if PT wins coming election) administration with their communist agenda already implemented, let's visualise a cenario: Imagine a scandal like ERON, or a guy like Madoff -let's be honest. The scandal, will not make headlines in a censored press. And a guy like Madoff, will not be put in jail.
Do you see my concerns?

You forgot to include "The Economist" that constantly paints a rosy picture about "HIM". However, I will not hold Mr.Lula responsible for permitting the Spaniards and Italians to "invest heavily" in the Telecom sector. It started at the end of the first of mandate of FHC who along with the "fathers, mothers and orphans" of "DIRETAS JA" framed a policy to sell the state owned companies and banks to the "European" investors for a song. Everyone expected Mr.Lula to review that policy, but he didn't.

Regardless of who wins (Serra or Dilma), I think the policy is likely to continue. After all Serra is a disciple of FHC, isn't he?

I think that our esteemed friend Dr.Cata is overestimating the influence (or threat) of the Americans on Brasil. The Europeans and the Chinese are more of a threat to our sovereignty than the Yanks. Thank you for a spirited response. I have read it carefully and your expression in English is very clear.

I don't have time now to respond(errands) as thoughtfully as I would like because I see, understand and appreciate your love for your country.

Let me say shortly that the answer is THE LAW. The Brazilian judiciary system is the weakest link in Brazil's 'constitutional' government. It is in fact on of the weakest judicial systems in Latin America. There is simply too much affiliation between the politicians, the elites, and the oligarchs. Corruption and injustice work hand-in-hand no matter under what social or political system.

Point out to the people 'ALL' the injustice happening in Brazil. Peacefully let the judges know that they are 'responsible' for the law. Presidents and paupers must answer at the bar of justice. If you empower the courts, and shame them into responsibility for justice and fairness then you expose the corruption that is destroying the society. For example security should be tied to the justice system, but we know how it is used by the political system and everyone winds up ducking to escape the shooting, by both sides.
That is why during the civil right era in America it was the "courts" we marched on to shame the justices, and show the world, what is really going on behind the curtain of Democracy.

The illiterate and the poor may not understand the mechanisms of geopolitical affairs like yourself and others in this forum, but they do understand injustice and until you can convince them of that without stealing their sweat and their inheritance, they will be with you in fighting the massive corruption, on both sides.

Esteemed Old Friend Joao (who had forgotten about me)
Needless to say, I am delighted that my "amusing moments" spent at this blog did not escape your memory, although for a couple of seconds I feared it might have...

Have no fear, my friend. Only an insignificant insect can forget such an illustrious person like your good self.Although I am quite busy, I enjoy good debates and therefore could not intervene and express my opinion after the appearance of our other distinguished fellow blogger Dr.Cata who continues to express his displeasure at the way the world is being run. Fortunately this time he is not assigning home work for us asking us to read various books!

I am overjoyed to observe that you have collected a group of friends and activists that are keen on holding the commies at bay from infiltrating into our great continent. Hopefully you will take care and protect yourselves from the nefarious agents sent by Havana and Caracas. These rascals generally carry special umbrellas and do not wear bowler hats and therefore are easy to identify.

Whilst on the subject, I urge you to spend a little more time on Brasilian affairs. Bear in mind that this year is crucial for not only the country, but also for rest of the continent.

Joao, I know about that, I remember it, I was still in Brazil at that time. As much as I like FHC and I think he was a great president my criticism goes to two decisions he made that made me very upset at that time. First, was "Vale do Rio Doce", although, today is a valuable company. Second, was the "Projeto Sivan". I remember reading two interviews in the magazine "Veja" in the "Paginas Amarelas" section about "Projeto Sivan". The first interview was with a Brazilian Military and also an engineer saying that it was an absurd to give this project to an American Company if Brazil had the know-how to develop the project and implement it, and added that it could give hundreds of jobs to Brazilians. The second interview was with an American abassador to Brazil -I think his last name was Levitsky or something- it was in Clinton administration. What he said in that interview made my skin crawl. He said -threatened is the perfect word- that if FHC did not give the "Sivan Project" to Americans to do it the diplomatic relations between Brazil and USA could be jeopardized. I am not kidding, It is on "Paginas Amarelas" in "Veja", I was a subscriber, I don't remember the year, maybe 94 or 95. Then, when asked about this rash statement he said that his job as an ambassador was not to be friends to the host country but to defend the interests of his country. I am not against foreigners or foreign companies to work in this kind of project in Brazil (although "Sivan" was a sensitive project) but only when we don't have know-how and resources to do it. You see, these are my two beefs -maybe others- with FHC, other than that I think he was a great president, because there is no perfect president.

I also think Lula has something positive as well. One that comes to mind is (I read this from some political analysts in Brazil and even outside at that time when he won his first term) that he kind of made Brazil be respected; sort of like: yeah, let's be careful with him, he is from the left, we don't want him to rock the boat. The downside is that he noticed this behavior and extrapolated; his ego is huge nowsmilies/sad.gif

Lloyd, I could not agree more. I would just add one little detail, in a communist or socialist political system I think corruption and injustice is not investigated as it is in an open democratic regime with free press. Although, I am aware, that even in democratic societies things can "happen", but still, if the "normal mechanisms" (legal) fail, you still have some other secondary mechanisms (civil organizations, associations, and other committiees). Something Venezuela is lacking right now.
That is why during the civil right era in America it was the "courts" we marched on to shame the justices, and show the world, what is really going on behind the curtain of Democracy.

This statement of that Brazilian Military Engineer is very consistent with my line of thoughts as well as that of many well informed Brasilians!

I am not against foreigners or foreign companies to work in this kind of project in Brazil

No was the Military Government. Years ago, I ran into some foreigners who were teaching in ITA/IME and some Federal Universities. We do have very good engineers that are capable of putting together any project. But unfortunately we seem to be content on exporting raw-material to the Chinese through our dilapidated Highways and Ports and importing overpriced French made RAFALES to protect our "Infrastructure".smilies/sad.gif

BTW, I am reproducing a stretch of the statement Gen.Augusto Heleno made after completing his tenure as the MINUSTA commander:

There is much I have to address with your recommendations for viewing and reading. Specifically concerning Gen. Heleno. I believe he understands the geopolitical situation and forces at work undermining Brazil and its people. He is in a position that is shared universally by military leaders around the world; and that is the question of when it becomes necessary to use military force to 'protect' the nation and the constitution. From what I see and hear it appears he is a patriot, which Brazil and all of Latin America could use more. An interesting person to follow in coming days as tensions rise.

Adriana,
Perhaps in between the lines you see how Lula has cornered the generals by 'hedging' on their 'blanket amnesty' during the dictatorship. Lula is very clever to use the justice system in this manner and not let them completely 'off the hook'. Not completely freeing them from the possibility of standing before the bar of justice. The generals are certainly not happy as they thought they were completely clear. This is just a 'warning' to them not to interfere. The response of the generals has really been quite amusing as they tremble to be accountable for their crimes during the dictatorship.
So you see, even tyrants fear being brought to justice. The Brazilian media, too many times, bow before the dictates of the judges to silence the TRUTH of Lula's circle of corruption.Reporters, clergy, and citizens have been murdered to cover up this corruption spreading throughout Brazil. Each criminal act, each injustice, must be displayed prominently "all the time", even without the assistance of the 'main-stream media'. That is the 'speech' which cannot be suppressed and the people will understand. Part of the battle is the 'media war' of which the Empire has advantage and which the 'left' is opposed. The other battle is for the 'inheritance of the people,' and this battle involves the property rights and land distribution of EVERY Brazilian. The economic, paramilitary, and political grip of the Land Owners Association is so unbalanced in relation to the average land distribution of the population that "land reform' is not only necessary, but vital to the future of Brazil and its people. The present allocation of resources and outright theft of property by these land barons will not stand, cannot stand if justice is served.
"Let there be a "property commission" where all 'legitimate' deeds are registered so everyone can see what was bought, inherited, and confiscated". Land reform must be part of the solution to the massive injustice, illiteracy, and poverty facing Brazil.
You see Democracy is not just about who gets to vote and choosing the better of 2 evils. People will vote more sensibly when their sweat and their inheritance are respected, and now that vote is for Lula and PT.Perhaps Dilma will take some of the shine from PT with her clumsy and heavy-handed actions, but inciting violence against the peoples choice is always destructive to the society and anti-Democratic.
Be steadfast in the truth and the people will naturally turn away from lies, deception, and violence. It is the message of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and Ghandi, and Martin King, and Mandela; who would not give up the truth after 27 years in prison!

Hard too find some glimmer of intelligence in that alcoholic haze exhibited by the rantings of this person(compliment), but never-the-less I will try for the sake of the discussion and the advancement of truth.
First, I was born in the Bronx(Montefiore Hospital) and lived there until I joined the Imperialist Forces and served in Vietnam(honorably, because I come from a family of men who have served more than 100 years collectively in service to our country). After Vietnam, I lived in the same house that I had at age 12, I attended college. The Bronx, its people, its streets, the Yankees, and all its diverse cultures(Italians, Jews, Blacks, Latinos, et al) will always be 'my hometown'.

Secondly, it is easy to jabber about something you have read or someone told you, but your mention only of salsa and mambo identifies you as 'incomplete idiot', because if you really knew then you would know that Latinos(Puerto Ricans, in majority) were the 'last' migrants to The Bronx and indeed they did bring the music and the flavors of their heritage and now it is part of Bronx culture, but did you know that RAP music was invented in the Bronx? Do you know that there is still the most significant Italian community in America in the Bronx? Do you know that the greatest zoo in the world is in the Bronx? The list goes on and on to present you with your ignorance, but even your mirror is 'cracked' so I leave the rest of your fate to others, possibly closer to you who can sober you up enough to discuss real issues and possible solutions to a better future for Rio and The Bronx.

.

Why should they "tremble", when the current ones were either cadets in the military academy or junior officers in 1964. Most of the Generals whom the father, mother and cousins of PNDH-3 want to hold accountable for their "misdeeds" are already in their graves- Not exactly "trembling", but LTAO. Of course there were some attempts by the "freedom loving" Spanish and Italian judges to try them posthumously with the full support of our Law Minister, but for some unknown reasons, somebody thwarted their "valiant and noble" attempts.

Perhaps Dilma will take some of the shine from PT with her clumsy and heavy-handed actions, but inciting violence against the peoples choice is always destructive to the society and anti-Democratic.

Not changing the subject, but in looking back you noted that there were many, including your esteemed self, who predicted the decline of the US economy and that is notable for your foresight, but in looking back I can find no one agreeing with me as to the Brazilian economic growth. Everyone else was of the opinion that Brazil would suffer horribly with any decline in US economic power.
Perhaps you can clarify for some of the newer participants here 'how Lula and PT have, rightfully and intelligently, capitalized on the economic foundations which they inherited'. smilies/wink.gif

There are many dangers to trying to 'change horses' in mid-stream. There are those who would not like to see Brazil advance and have a successful Olympiad in 2016. Brazil could do worse than having Dilma and her comrades in the presidency. If she happens to mismanage what she has inherited it will be clear to everyone and the Socialists will be swept from power, just as Clinton left Bush with $200B surplus which turned in 8 years to $1.3T deficit. Remember, Socialists, Communists, Imperialists, all like to have money and I don't expect she will stray too far in the decline of the economy; some of which is inevitable considering the how fast the Brazilian economy is growing. I am still very concerned about the inflation picture and the US ability to export that inflation with worthless dollars. Could you ever imagine Brazil would be propping up the dollar? Yet, that is exactly what is happening! Of course we know that it cannot go on indefinitely ....

Obviously, you are anxious to dig my mouth! The credit for the prediction of U.S. economy really goes to Mr.Ricardo Amaral and Mr.ch.c. My contention was that we were attracting foreign investment into our stock market by keeping our Selic rate (similar to your Prime rate) high. The borrowing rate in Brasil is the second highest in the world (Next to Turkey, unless PIGS have outwitted us). So the foreign money was not into "productive investments" inside the country to stimulate the internal production, thus creating well paid jobs.

I am glad that you are able to see the "big picture" smilies/cheesy.gifsmilies/grin.gif There is indeed a danger of an "old horse" jumping into the "mid-stream". Even the reputable "Economist" has demanded that this "Old War Horse" declare itself to be in the race. Of course there are some clueless "young horses" too,but..but.. they are not bound to succeed, unless they are on the good side of your beloved friends, the "International Bankers". As long as these "horses" dont break their legs, the "Revolution" will continue to the greater glory of our Republic.smilies/cool.gif

Could you ever imagine Brazil would be propping up the dollar? Yet, that is exactly what is happening! Of course we know that it cannot go on indefinitely ....

I suggest you send an e-mail to Mr.Jintao to get further clarifications.smilies/wink.gifsmilies/cheesy.gifsmilies/grin.gif

i know you want to unite the romance novels of robert strichnine, or what ever his name is, about the cia drug flights with the truth i brought in about beira mar and the pcc with farc.but, as i have been telling you and this forum for a long time, the o globo news paper totaly agreed with my point that ,brazil has been drowned in crack cocaine all over the country and it is destroying the inner social fabric of the society here.

and none of it is from the cia, as badly as you want to beleive that

i linced in notices of various giant busts in various locations in brazil, including, salvador with the amazon area in one bust, with proof its coming from colombian revolutionary groups , going through venezuela, and the middle minas gerais with another bust of a guy linced with the beira mar bust 7 years ago with the farc.

these are facts, not fiction. the amount of kilos of crack is from the amount busted, not what got through and they are saying that it is 81 percent of all south america crack cocaine busted.

while you have tea and crumpets with joao, you might realise that your snow job of the purpose of the usa at colombias bases has just crowded everyones vision with a blizzard of bulls**t.

really man, think of the truth for your daughter and laws family , not your creative eloquent fiction writing that is so charming with crap

wow, the cabana was bouncing around heavy today

of course i know the bronx has many ethnic groups and that rap music came from there and some other barrios.

you got something against salsa and mambo and some of those great musicians there who make and dance to that music?

quite a few of you white ethnic groups ran for the hills (suburbs) when the puerto ricans arrived...but kudos for your return and service to your country that you hate...

MEDIA CONTROL

They say the military were the winners of 64. Wrongo! The military were soundly defeated in 64. Their role in history today is that of villains. The terrorists who were supposedly defeated, who wanted to transform the country into a Moscow banana republic, have been taken to the heroes podium.

The same gang that owns media in USA owns most in Brasil, like Globo so on.
They FORM, they think, public opinion, recall during the referendum to ban citizens from having guns, the GANG wrote the PRO-BAN propaganda into telenovel story lines. The danger to a free Brasil has never been more serious. Look at the importation of poisonous dogmas from USA this AFFIRMATIVE ACTION and RACIAL QUOTAS, this will destroy Brasil UNLESS challenged, it has already made the USA not a very good place. I always wonder why two countries such as Brasil and USA, who were only kind and welcoming to the GANG, were targeted for destruction by these people, who can say.

God help us all! I wouldn't doubt that one day they would take Christ down from the mountain.
