as you know, i wrote a thread asking about floripa (to understand it a little better). But Ive made up my mind on Fortaleza. I did some extra reading on a few cities in the north and took a liking to Fortaleza, more than with Floripa. Im also corresponding with someone from there. Any opinions on Fortaleza would be appreciated. (last city i ask about, i swear!)

Alright! That's my city! Fortaleza is the 3rd largest city in Brazil. It juts out right on the ocean and has great nightlife. Try to be there in late July or early August, that's when they have "Fortal".... it's like a miniature Carnival with some great bands. Let me know if you do go and I will put you into contact with some of my freinds there and at least you will have a heads up on the hot spots.

I take it nobody knows anything about Fortaleza then...lol. It turns out Im not just going for vacation. My father is in the aviation business and its very likely I will be moving to Fortaleza in june to work for him. One last time for the sake of it, no one can offer any personal experiences about this city?

Be carefull with what you eat, you may not be able to stomach anything that a native does.

hmmm Ze what do you mean by stomaching what the native does? Is the food more spicey? Or were you referring to something else?

It is heavily spiced, and there are in a few dishes some unorthodox ingredients.
