Just take a look at the impressive list of corrupt movers and shakers to be appointed to prime kickback political positions – Maluf, Collar, Braga, Sarney, Palocci et.al, all first runoff successes. As Churchill once lamented “The biggest argument against democracy is a five minute discussion with the average voter.†One could only imagine how he would have rephrased that in the light of these elections.
