"When I arrived here on the first day of the course, I had a hard heart, full of desire for vengeance". I felt like a dry withered flower without hope" the symbol of how I felt is this empty cup". I was like this crumpled-up tissue broken by pain." These are same of the statements made by participants of the ESPERE (Schools of Pardon and Reconciliation) course that we recently gave to a group of educators at the Center for Human Rights and Popular Education (CDHEP) here in São Paulo. |

Nearly a week has passed since Roberto Moreno found new speed, a day after eking out a tenuous final row spot in the starting grid of the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500. At age 66, Doutor Expedito has never been so requested. His biokerosene should pave the way for reducing carbon dioxide emissions in aviation and for a gradual substitution of ordinary jet fuel. Tests have been performed since mid-2006 and are believed to soon enter a decisive stage at Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer based in Seattle (WA), with NASA, the space agency, also collaborating actively.

The Brazilian press still minds its manners. The government can't handle the cheap dollar and we still don't see a single newspaper getting to the point. On May 15 the dollar reached below 2 reais for the first time since February 2001. The next day it fell again, this time to 1.95 reais, the lowest value in more than six years. This is a "good problem," said President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Open-wheel racing in the United States has consistently struggled in recent years to compete with NASCAR, but if it is not yet apparent that the outgoing tide of fickle fandom may be slowing, and the foundation for a reversal of fortunes may be taking shape. For more than two decades an impressive degree of diversity has been clearly apparent at the Indianapolis 500. Credit Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) President and CEO Tony George for publicly promoting diversity at the IMS and in the Indy Racing League (IRL).
