São Paulo, Brazil, recently marked an event which will give readers abroad an
idea of what life is like here - for the first time in 50 years a whole day
passed without a single murder reported. Not surprisingly, this news did not
lead to mass celebrations and there was one dissenting report that a body had
been found in a rubbish skip.

Pay the police more written by aes,
December 19, 2007
Pay the police more. Even the highest rank of the police receive little more than $R 2,000 a month. A similar position in the U.S. pays $R 12,000 per month.
if you pay them more they will still rod the public do what they did in cloumbia put a bunch of them in jail and hire new ones with the open thret of going to jail if you rob the people

Found a hole in a windo of a back bedroom. Found a 380 bullet lying on the rug perfet in everyway except that the head was at a 45 degree angle. Reasoned that if it were fired close by there would have been a small hole in the window and the bullet would have been deformed and entered a wall. Conclusion, the bullet was fired at a 45 degree angle in the air over a mile away from one of the favelas on the other side of the mountain. 3 weeks ago a boy was shot in the head playing football at a club a short distance away. Its raining death in Rio.
Called the police, like the Beverly Hills police the police in Leblon were polite, efficient and responded within minutes, along with all the press in Rio. Reporting crime is a business in Rio. It is the fear that sells. The police are part of the infra-structure structure. I would suggest that the city of Rio would profit greatly if it invested in the building of a state of the art police force; salaries, personnel, equipment.
The insurance will pay for the window. Increased insurance coverage requires an increase in the premium. So it is with law enforcement.

One of these days we will catch up with you and throw you out of our country, back to your crappy scotland.
Typical, knuckle-dragging nationalistic grunting at its best. Kostinho is the posterboy for your average drunken shirtless loudmouth at the local boteca. If they’re not threatening to use violence, they wish you kicked out of the country, just like Lulinho did with Larry Rother. Childish and Pathetic. Don’t you flag waving primates understand that if you’d pull your xenophobic head out of your ass, and listen to those who actually do have something to add to the debate (regardelss if their last name is Smith or Silva), you may actually learn something?
Ya, I didn’t think so.

Reading that post of yours is like being viciously assaulted by a perfumed parakeet in a goddamned Parisian bordello
How would you know? What exactly is your experience with being assaulted by perfumed parakeets? Care tell?
I'll put on my sombrero and dance the La Cucaracha on your testicles if you don't shut the f**k up.
Bravo! Bravo! You so eloquently highlight the points I’ve made. Please DON´T shut the f**k up; you provide the best examples of why the Brazilian government needs to work more in the area of education.

Funny thing is I can insult you in your native tongue but reciprocally you can’t do the same!
Well if you consider your rabid blathering in english funny, be my guest.I just find it pathetic and rather childless, as would most "first world" educated individuals.
Now then…. You're ugly, I'm busy. Have a nice day!
If you are seeing me in your computer maybe you should talk with your doctor.
Please keep posting. Like I’ve said, you’re the poster child for a typical Brazilian knuckle dragging buffoon, your collection of writings here prove the point well that Brazil needs to focus more on educating its people.

Let me fire your imagination… Wait just a minute, which way is up or down in your face? Hell, you are uglier than the north-facing end of a south-bound mule. When you walk by the bathroom, I bet the toilet flushes…. Hehehehe!
Sheer brilliance; I particularly enjoyed the use of the "Hehehehe" at the end to really drive home the enormity of your wit. Keep em coming.
inconsequential Gringão, Viadão!
I’ll remember that when you come to collect for the garden work you and your brother did for me last week. By the way, the hedges need pruning again.

Who is NOT ranting against the Brazilian (IN)justice ??????
And to the other Brazilian junkie "pay them more, they earn $r 2000.- in Brazil, 12000.- in the USA"
Do you think that in the USA a police man can afford a US$ 166'000 car ???????? Welllll....you are just as stupid as your lovely but idiot Costihna. Brazilians have really a total lack of basic common sense and total ignorance. Sadly you prove it every time you open your mouth...and type your arguments on your keyboard. Do you have only ONE TENTH of a normal brain ?
And do you really believe that a similar car costs as much.....in a developed country ????? We are not governed by idiots and crooks, fortunately !

What do Brazilians Cops and Robbers in common ? - They both steal - They both kill innocents...daily ! - They both have mostly total impunity. - They both drive expensive imported cars (locally made cars are of course not good enough for machos) - They both DID NOT PAY for their cars.
And to the idiot "I bet the toilet flushes"
At least we have flushing toilets.....in developed countries.

AES, you ready to sell me your apartment? Trust you saw the news regarding Papai Noel's helicopter being shot at. Suggest you not stand up on the roof trying to watch the fireworks for Novo Ano. Give me the dimensions for each pane and I'll bring you a more suitable defensive type laminate to install.
Cost_a, it's not the waiting for the gumball to drop out that concerns us. It's what he does / where he stuffs it after getting his gumballs.

The first thing you should specify is.....WHERE YOU LIVE !!!!
And how can you compare a BMW with no model (even less the non disclosed options) mentionned in the article.... and a 726i for which you list ALL the options ??????
You have either the best crytal ball on earth ....or you are totally idiot....in my view !
You should know that Brazil has approximately a 100 % IMPORT TAX.....ON IMPORTED CARS ! May be even more when you add ALL the various taxes PLUS THE LUXURY TAX. fOR FURTHER INFO...IF YOU CAN READ......GO TO : http://www.ita.doc.gov/td/auto/international/importreq/TBR2006.pdf which list ALL the taxes....except the luxury tax.. Interesting to note there that in Brazil used cars import is BANNED, and Brazil also has a ban on diesel passenger car imports ! Yesssssss....you ban the import of diesel cars but you export diesel cars. Afraid of competition ???????
And in my country Switzerland ? Only a 7,5 % VAT tax.....and nothing else.....as you can read in the same article mentionned above !
