Silhouette of street kids killed at Candelária In the light of day, the historical Candelária Church in Rio de Janeiro serves as the venue of not only extravagant weddings and an attractive tourist destination in the heart of the city's business center, but also of a gothic event that is not likely to ever be forgotten. The Candelária is also haunted by congregations of Brazil's infamous street children who meet there, attempting to sleep peacefully and enjoy a temporary recess from the nightly hardships they find themselves facing on a regular basis.

in Rio alone, "on-duty police are responsible for nearly 18 percent of the total killings, and kill three people every day."

Already very sad.

But then how many killings are made by these same police forces when...
OFF DUTY ???????

SUCH AS WHEN THEY TRANSFORM THEMSELVES IN....DEATHS SQUADS.....KILLING...STREET CHILDREN !!!!!!

And that is not only in Rio...of course !
Where to we begin to change...

It is easy to point the finger when you observe the basic facts;

Children killed by police.

Have you ever been harmed or mugged by somebody? Did you know that many of these "street kids" (that majority have homes) targets are old people, male and female who cannot defend themselves? Yes I am generalizing, but such is the case when any progress is attempted to be made by analyzing a group as a whole. Many will choose to focus on the exception and ignore the majority.
Once you have lived in such places and have witnessed attacks on people by the poor or suppressed you began to think differently or better yet have been hurt by one of these such people. It is easy to want to treat someone who acts like an animal,like the animal they resemble, despite the fact that they may be victims of society. I ask you fellow reader and citizen of the world where do you begin to repair the damage that has been done? Is the answer education? Would wealth and resources help reverse the curse that exist amongst the Brazilian society? Why does the obtainment of wealth imply that a society will somehow become whole? Does this violence exist primarily because of the social gaps Or is it ingrained in the culture itself? We need a long term solution as opposed to the death squad which is a animalistic approach to a very real problem.

Love is not a thing to understand.
Love is not a thing to feel.
Love is not a thing to give and receive.
Love is a thing only to become
And eternally be.
