I want to send to a friend (homesick for Brazil) a package of enjoyable or memorable foods from Brazil. Since I have never been to Brazil, I am looking for ideas. What would you suggest?

Panetone, for one, which you can find in supermarkets or italian bakeries, is something most Brazilians love at Christmas time.
For chocolates, canned fruit and other goodies take a look here:

Well Panetone is Italian so let’s start by giving the guy some ideas for “Brazilian foods”. But I don’t get it, you are not in Brazil, but want to send Brazilian food to a friend who misses Brazil? I assume that you are planning on buying brazilian stuff abroad?

My guess it that the person's Brazilian freind is also in America, just maybe far away. Or they could be near and the word "send" was used in the wrong context, as opposed to "give".
Anyway... I could be wrong on both accounts.
