That is so sad to hear the news. I think that statue of Jesus is what causes it. HIs arms are stretched out like he's reaching for something. I wager that if you put his hands in the pockets, then lightning would not strike so much.

Better play the lotteries, lightning does strike twice. HA HA

Relampago in Brasil? Amazing...it must be all that rain that falls in the Amazonas...and the high peaks of Rio's surrounds that attract the lighning...the views from Corcovado and Pao de Acucar demonstrate the world's most beautiful, indeed, Marvilous City.

But arco-iris, the birthplace of all rainbows is Haena on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. It must be that Mt. Waialele at just over 5,000 ft in altitude draws the worlds greatest rainfall over eons of time. Common rain drops 400 to 600 inches a year to earn the lush green verdant island the name of the Garden Island.

Rio...the world's most beautiful City followed by San Francisco...

Kauai...Hawaii's most beautiful island...has no comparison...safe warm and has Hawaii's most and best beaches. Clean and Tranquil...

We just returned from Kauai and stayed at the Kapaa Kauai BeacHouse on their Blue Lagoon...amazing $23 to $50 night with a store across the street.

When we go to Rio we don't want to leave...we dread the Tom Jobim Airport loudspeaker "Voo 990..."

When we visit Kauai we want to stay.

Hotel Miramar at the corner of Rua Sa Fereira and Avenida Atlantica on the beach at Copacabana is a fabulous stay...their roof top bar has one of Copa's best views...excellent and friendly staff and delicious breakfast included.

Rio...maravilhosa.
Kauai...que linda.

Saudades nasceram in Rio and Kauai.

'brigado...

I lived in San Francisco for 10 years, it didnt rain that much. I'd
think there are other places in the world, or for that matter,
the US, where it rains more.
