Who flies from Miami to Recife non-stop?

All the flights I find on the internet involve stopping in Sao Paulo or Rio!

Can anyone help me?

I couldn't find any either Patrick. My wife is from Aracaju, so it would be great if there were such a route.

I wish they had them too, perhaps eventually.

My travel agent in Recife just told me they ended because of Sept.11th. Also the airport here in Recife has been undergoing much remodeling in the international section.

We can hope that eventually there will be direct U.S.-Recife flights, but not at the moment.

Hello all...
There is a flight on VARIG every Saturday from Miami to Manaus. There is no charge to go on from there to various cities inside Brasil. I plan to fly into Manaus then on to Fortaleza.
Call VARIG in Miami !!

Guy,

Let us know how the flight to Fortaleza via Manaus turns out. My husband & I have been looking for just such a "shortcut". Flying from Chicago-SP-Fort. is awful!

Hi Linda,

AFAIK, the flight leaves MIA pretty early in the morning, meaning you'll need a red-eye from ORD in order to make it. I can't make it from the west coast without an overnight in MIA. It also always tends to be more expensive than the flights through Rio or SP.

On a side note, I finally checked out Fortaleza in Oct. I have to say it is the first and only city in Northeast Brazil that I did not care for.

Oops. The flight leaves at 2:00pm. Still, pricing out at $750.00 for mid June. I was thinking of the old MIA-FOR flights which left in the morning. I do really like the airport in Sao Paulo, so I don't mind connecting through there, not to mention the extra frequent flyer miles.
