i am nearly complete with my degree in english literature here in the united states. i am very interested in moving to sao paulo for at least a year to teach, but more important to experience a different culture than that of what i have been raised in.

could anyone tell me (without being a complete sarcastic asshole) how difficult it is to obtain a teaching job for a 25 year old american with an english degree?

if anyone knows of any sites, job listings, or other people with previous experience that i could talk to it would be of great service.

here's an article found in a past issue of brazzil.com...

www.brazzil.com/p35jan01.htm

you should consider the source and take this information with however many grains of salt you wish...

I've looked into this a little and have heard many of the same things that this guy is saying in his article. Not that this makes him or me any more credible, but just thought I'd throw that out there...

The best place to teach and live inBrail is Belo Horizonte City, Minas Gerais State. Here, you get less money but the cost of living is cheaper and quality of live is also much better. The wheather is perfect and everybody treat you like a movie star. Amazing!
