I'm looking for Portuguese classes in the Norfolk/Va Beach area. The only Romance languages offered at the local colleges are Spanish, Italian and French. As of now, I'm learning through a dictionary, and flash cards. Obrigado

Regardless of whether you can finde a class in VA, consider the pimsleur courses for portuguese (comprehensive I, II and III)

They help with speaking and listening.

Hi,

If you are interested in learning Portuguese, I can recommend my web site (www.sonia-portuguese.com) and my Portuguese Grammar book (http://www.sonia-portuguese.com/newbook.htm) and also my new Portuguese course, which is a complete and practical course on contemporary Brazilian Portuguese. It will probably be ready for sale in October. The course has 50 lessons, over 450 real-life short dialogues, over 200 varied interactive exercises and it also includes a very detailed pronunciation guide and 39 cartoon strips covering everyday situations. All dialogues, cartoon strips and the pronunciation guides have audio files.

Regards,
Sonia

Sonia - I love your website! Terrific!!!

Hey...if anyone out here on this forum is living in New Orleans, free beginning Brazilian Portuguese classes are beginning on Sept 10 at Tulane University! I am a little better than a beginner, but I could use some brushing up and hopefully this will continue. The class is free although they encourage you to join BACI (Brazilian - American Cultural Institute of New Orleans), which I gladly did!!! On Sunday, Sept 8 , they are having a big "Sete de Setembro" party at Cafe Brasil near the French Quarter!
