Brazilian Businessmen Get a Crash Course on How to Woo the Middle East

The Apex (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency) is going to
show Brazilian businessmen in the fashion sector the best strategies
for breaking into the Middle Eastern market. Starting on the 22nd this
month, Apex will promote a series of workshops in three Brazilian
cities.
These meetings will focus on the main opportunities and best strategies for national fashion in the markets of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon and Oman.

There will be meetings turned to the segment as a whole and others specifically geared at the jewelry, cosmetics, clothing and footwear sectors. The first meeting, which will feature an overview of the survey, will be held at the Apex headquarters, in the Brazilian capital, Brasília, on June 22nd.

In São Paulo, at the Matsubara Hotel, a general presentation of the survey and a meeting for the jewelry industry will feature on the 24th, as well as a workshop for the cosmetics industry and another for the clothing industry on the 25th. Also in the schedule is a presentation for the footwear industry on June 26th, in the city of Novo Hamburgo, state of Rio Grande do Sul.

According to information supplied by the Apex press office, the effort resulted from the industry demand, due to Brazilian companies' scarce knowledge of the fashion market in Middle Eastern countries.

The agency has already presented a market survey on Asia, and now it concluded another one on the Middle East. According to information supplied by the Apex, the jewelry, cosmetics, clothing and footwear segments were surveyed. The general presentations will include details concerning each segment.

The survey brings information on behavior and consumption patterns, perception of Brazilian fashion in the target markets, business opportunities, market positioning, trade partners, and product distribution channels.

The data should help national companies to enter and better position themselves in those markets. Geared at businessmen and institutions connected with the fashion industry, the meetings are free of charge. The Apex is linked to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
