For Brazil’s Shoe Maker Pampili There Is No Crisis

Through work and promotion strategy of its brand, to make it strong and respected, Pampili, a maker of children's shoes from the city of Birigüi, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, Brazil, is able to keep fidelity among international clients, even in times that are unfavorable to exports.

The Arab countries, to which the company has been exporting for eight years, are the main destination market. In the Middle East, buyers include Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman and Syria. The first steps in the direction of North Africa were much more recent and started in Egypt.

"We strongly believe in the potential of the countries of North Africa. We are greatly interested in developing growing work and with lasting contracts, as is the case with the Middle East," guarantees the international sales coordinator at Pampili, Carlos Passarini.

"Nowadays, in the Arab world, when it is said that the product is Brazilian, they know that it is quality. Many people who bought from the Chinese due to their prices now prefer to pay more for a better product," he pointed out.

According to Passarini, all the shoes made by Pampili have stamps by the Brazilian Technological Center of Leather, Footwear and Related Industries (Ibetec), showing that they comply with high quality norms and standards.

"The stamp shows that our shoes do not harm little girls' developing feet and guarantee comfort and stability," explained the coordinator.

According to him, Pampili works within the 5P concept, i.e., point of sale, product, price, promotions and personnel. "Each 'P' is worked and developed. The brand is now our great differential, complemented by the company policy of awareness, responsibility and by the Ibetec stamp," said Passarini.

So as to comply with all the orders for the next collection, to start being delivered in July, the company is operating at full capacity, with production of 40,000 pairs of shoes a day, generating 3,000 jobs, including direct and indirect employees. There are over 1,000 different models, from sandals to boots, ranging as high as size 7.5 (UK). All the models are exclusively female.

"We want to be the inspiration present in the girl's world, making her dreams into happiness," stated the executive. "More than exporting products, we want the whole world to learn the concepts and values that make Pampili into a unique and happy company. Trust, engagement, knowledge, humility and respect are the basis for our business, our decisions and our relations," he added.

Currently, foreign sales are responsible for 15% of company revenues. Apart from the Arab countries, Pampili exports to Latin America, Europe and other nations in Africa. Participation in fairs, visits and prospecting new clients are routine for the company. In June, Pampili is going to participate in the Expo Riva, in Riva del Garda, Italy, where the organization plans to meet importers from all over the world.
