Brazilian TV Producers Try Selling Pitch on Americans and Europeans

Brazil's Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex) and the Brazilian Association of Independent Producers of Television (ABPITV) promotes from today, September 30, to Thursday, October 2, at Pestana Copacabana Hotel, in Rio de Janeiro, workshops and business roundtables between Brazilian TV producers and foreign buyers.

The initiative according to the Apex, is part of the Brazilian TV Producers project and takes place at the Rio Market, a business area at the International Cinema Festival of Rio de Janeiro. The festival is going to end on October 9th in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the Apex, the workshops and roundtables should include professionals in the audiovisual sector from Germany, Argentina, Canada, Spain, the United States, Finland, France, Ireland, Japan, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. They are going to have meetings with 24 Brazilian producers.

Apart from the roundtables, whose objective is the sale of Brazilian productions abroad, there should also be talks by foreign specialists. The target is to show Brazilian companies how the foreign market works.

Among the speakers are Claire Aguilar, Program vice president at Independent Television Service (ITVS), of the United States, Ken MacDonald, Program vice president at the Discovery Channel in Canada, Walter Sucher, director of the science and education division at the Public TV of Germany, and Yves Jeanneau, documentary director at Telfrance International.
