Sociologist Oswaldo Truzzi from Brazil pointed out at the seminar "The Arab Contribution to Ibero-American Identities", in Rio de Janeiro, that the economic growth of Arab immigrants in Brazil allowed them to follow political careers. "Political careers were the result of the social and economic mobility they had in Brazil," said Truzzi, who wrote his doctoral thesis through the University of Campinas (Unicamp) based on the Arab immigration to Brazil.

Considering that the majority of Latin Americans belong to disenfranchised lower classes – without opportunities and exposure to decent education – and considering the speed by which these elements are succumbing to the appalling teachings of evangelical groups, I consider it extremely dangerous to indirectly expose these poor ignorant sectors of society to the hateful, divisive, intolerant teachings of ISLAM.
Because a theoretical Islamic conversion of large numbers of Latin Americans is not only possible but almost inevitable IF large numbers of Middle Eastern elements continue being introduced, I URGE all local governments (especially Brasilia) to seriously reflect upon the potentially undesirable outcome of irresponsible immigration policies. While I would encourage liberal immigration policies (to attract talented individuals who might contribute to the advance of South American countries – as suggested by ch-c), there should be a FILTER in place in order to avoid the grave error committed in Europe during the 20th Century (as most Western European countries now have to deal with the spread of hate, intolerance, & hideous crime in light of the huge number of Muslims in their midst).
South America – as it’s presently constituted - already has a myriad of very serious issues which its governments must tackle and resolve (such as poverty, ignorance, social inequality, homelessness, extreme corruption – to mention just a few); therefore, these various Latin administrations should take every possible step to avoid the complete exacerbation of their problems by permitting the introduction and dissemination of repulsive and conflict-ridden principles of the most hateful, divisive, and potentially criminal of all religions!
