I have been away from bresil since a child but I know trough family and some friends of my parents, and my parents themselves that marriages in Brazil are huge, so be ready to spend a lot on food, drinks and all that show off thing. Brazilians give a lot of importance to their social status and it shows specially in the way they celebrate. Personaly when I was a teenager growing up in Canada, I just couldn't believe that while I was just have a party with a couple of friends for my 15th birthday, my brazilian cousin on the other hand was getting this massive 15000$ (american) party inviting over 300 people, and her parents where only middle class. Of course, that only applies if you are marring a Brazilian, in this case you better be ready to impress her family, I expect you do already for being a Canadian hehehehe. Brazilian women love foreigners from what I have seen, specially the "blond" types. So you might be the talk of the family there by now I would expect. I might be patronizing, but I am just basing it on my personal knowlege of the Brazilian culture which is a brazilian living abroad for 15 years, things might have changed by now, if they have , please tell me because not in my family over there yet! Bye Bye | |
