Brazilian Coach Joins US Academy Soccer Club

Florida-based Schulz Academy soccer club announced yesterday the launch of an additional training program for U6, U8, U10, U12 boys and girls and the appointment to its coaching staff of Prof. Thadeu Gonçalves, the founder of Brazil’s Instituto Brasileiro de Futebol, the source of many of that country’s top soccer players.

“We’re proud to announce that Coach Thadeu’s appointment coincides with the launch of a new Schulz Academy Developmental Program that builds on our success this year in having the highest number of players from a single club in the Super Y League National Selection Teams, and capturing the U14 National Champions title,” said Dr. Josef Schulz, Director of Coaching of the Schulz Academy.

“We’re developing a new generation of soccer players and will teach players and their parents to appreciate the necessary steps for becoming committed and successful while never sacrificing good grades at school.

“Participants will receive a weekly newsletter explaining lesson plans and during the first week, players will be analyzed and a parents/players meeting will be established to explain each child’s development in all aspects of the game, including nutrition and fitness,” Dr. Schulz added.

“Coach Thadeu will be bringing a combination of exciting, distinctive and fun Brazilian soccer.  This is not a traditional recreation program for young players. Playing soccer at the highest level is becoming more difficult and only players developed from their early years will be able to compete,” he said.

A USSF A-licensed coach with a graduate degree from Boston University in Education, Sports Medicine and Sports Psychology, Coach Thadeu played and coached professionally in Brazil and later at Boston University.

The Schulz Academy was founded by Dr. Josef Schulz, a former professional player in Austria’s Division 1, with a PhD in Economics and Soccer Management from the University of Vienna.

The Academy’s Travel Club, which participates in Florida leagues, tournaments and the State Cup, is ranked first in Florida in U13 and U14, second in U15, and fourth in U16 age groups.
