Kravitz’ Guitar Makes US$ 128,000 for Brazil’s Zero Hunger

The electric guitar donated by American singer Lenny Kravitz to the Zero Hunger Program was bought, yesterday, for US$ 128.7 thousand (322 thousand reais). The footwear sector entrepreneur Paulo Grendene won the auction.

The auction started April 29th, in the Terra web portal, with an initial value of US$ 1.99 thousand (5 thousand reais) and ended May 3, in Uberaba, during the 71st International Exposition of Zebu Breeds (ExpoZebu).

ExpoZebu is the largest fair of zebu breed genetics and agribusiness in the world.

Approximately a thousand people participated in the auction promoted by the non-governmental organization Zero Hunger Support Association, an association of private companies and entities.

The money will be used in the construction of 212 water cisterns for the population of Brazil’s semi-arid region.

The Gibson guitar, model Epiphone Flying V, used during Lenny Kravitz Brazilian tour in March of this year, was personally handed by the singer to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
