Eight Americans Arrested in Brazil for Making Porno Movies

Police from the Santa Cruz Precinct, in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, arrested eight American tourists in a mansion on Niemeyer Avenue, in the São Conrado district.

The Americans are accused of encouraging prostitution. The eight Brazilian women who were also found on the premises were contracted by the foreigners to act in porno films.

The police received a tip that various underage females from Sepetiba, also in the western zone, were being enticed by Americans to participate in porno films in a house on Niemeyer Avenue.

When they arrived at the locale last night, August 2, the police found the girls, but none of them was a minor. They were interrogated and released.

The eight Americans had been in the house for 40 days. All of them have temporary tourist visas in Brazil, which prohibits them from engaging in lucrative activities. They were charged under Article 229 of the penal code, which deals with encouraging prostitution.

The precinct commissioner, Marcos Menezes, said that the films were meant to be sold on the US market for US$ 40,000 and that the Brazilians would each receive a US$ 129.40 (300 reais) performer’s fee.

The commissioner has already sent an official letter to the Federal Police to find out whether extraditing the Americans is in order.

In the house the police seized three video cameras, three laptops, a scanner, eight films produced in Rio by the Americans, photographs, and 30 grams of marijuana. The Americans were transported to the Polinter (Interstate Police) jail in the port zone of the city.

    why the American hate?
You know what I’m sick of? The envy and hate other countries have for the U.S. You have a rented house full of spoiled, rich, U.S. frat boys who get their kicks by trying to make a porn movie (with adults). They get arrested and suddenly all you self righteous haters from other countries get on some tirade against the entire United States! Ridiculous. We’re just trying to get through this world like you, doing the best we can.
But let me ask you a question? Who the hell gets the first call when there’s a disaster in some country no one ever heard of? The U.S.! Who has spilled more of its blood on the shores of other countries than any other country? Yeah, the U.S. Look, Americans have not always agreed when our government sends our children to your country to free you. But there isn’t one American who doesn’t get choked up when a kid in some God-forsaken part of Africa gets food in his little belly for the night. You think we do all that to conquer the world? Hell no. We do it because we always root for the underdog. I am 39 years old and have volunteered at least five years of my life to charitable causes. I don’t do that because I want to take over the world or spread American democracy. I do it because as Americans we are taught that unless you become a giver, you will never be successful. I am now the owner of my own business but still feed children that I will never see, donate clothes to orphages in Mexico, etc. So I don’t have time for your hate. I’m too busy looking around me at the beauty in each country to envy. And if you’d get your head out of your ass for two seconds, you’d be doing the same thing. Envy is a cruel emotion. It robs you of your joy and creativity. Stop the envy and the hate. You’ll feel better and your environment will see the benefits. And the next time you visit your grandfather’s grave, be thankful. I have never seen my grandfather’s grave. He’s buried in Europe. He died liberating the people of France in the Battle of Normandy.

Im an american, iv’e travelled to Brazil and i had the best time of my life ! The woman referred to as whores acted as a LADY at all times, doing no more than a woman from another country would do to whom they chose to open up to. But as for BRAZILLIANS as a whole, PLEASE dont let peoples comments cause u to stoop to there level of close minded, childish, hypocritical behavior. Brazil is not perfect but it’s a BEAUTIFUL place and YOU ALL have it going on ! There are corrupt police everywhere, so who’s to talk about Brazils public safety ! I had one incident ware some locals made me feel uncomfortable, but that couldnt blemish the love BRAZIL showed me. For the first time in my life i felt FREE ! the sun and the air was beautiful ! I felt like a KING with no worries in the world, Paradise ! Move forth in prosperity Brazil ! In JESUS name !

    I agree!

  • Overall Brazil is a good country that is on its way to being great

I am a young American man that went to Rio speaking only a little Spanish. I stayed near Copacabana beach and had no problems at all. The people are beautiful and mostly friendly (every country has its bad people). I went to clubs at night and met a beautiful Brazilian woman who I spent my last week with. From there I got to meet her family and friends and even though I couldnt speak their language they appreciated the little bits of Portuguese I tried to use. Also, as with any country, if youre just friendly and smile and are considerate, its not a problem making friends. I was surprised how little you actually need to speak with people (and how much can be communicated with acting and gestures) and how many great times we had. Cultures are rarely That different. We all share the same emotions, struggles, and for the most part, Comedy.
The USA is far from perfect but Brazil is alot farther. That said, I am optimistic Brazil will be a fully functioning country in the future. Corruption, unemployment rate, poverty, diseases, etc are all worse in Brazil than in the USA. On the other hand, I think Brazil is superior to the USA in their liberal outlook and more communal lifestyles.
When visiting, use common sense, be respectful of the culture and try to learn some Portuguese. I cant wait to go back and I am considering living there.

    Un-educated people
I was born in Brazil but moved to the U.S. in the mid 70’s. I have been to Brazil a couple of times due to the fact that I serve in the U.S. Military. I am sad to say that I was discouraged and dissappointed at some of the things I saw in Brazil but at the same time there is a alot of progress. Brazil is a beautiful country with beautiful people and the problem is that some Americans and other folks from other countries go there don’t respect our the people especially young women because they know they can’t do these things in the U.S. Once I retire from the military I will go to Brazil more often and spend more time there. All I ask is that people respect our culture because once you cross that line, there is no going back.

I married a beautiful latino blue eyed blond german girl…. Ha, ha, ha.. Only in Santa Catarina. People who pay for sex are suckers.

    Prejudice x Correct Action
I read a lot of stupid comments about what happened in Rio de Janeiro as regarding this sad matter. What the police did was correct, was it not? what would have happened if it had been in the US or any other country?
There are a lot of prostitution and corruption in any country today (we are in the XXI century!) and specially in the US: they are the masters and probably our best teachers when it comes to these issues.
I was born and live in SÀƒ£o Paulo, which is one of the biggest cities in the world. We have a lot of problems down here but, unfortunately, it is not different from any other big city in the World.
Lets stop being ignorant: we already have enough problems in the world. Lets separet which is legal from ilegal. What the police did was correct. I hope that our authorities in Brazil have taken care of (and been fair to) the americans citizens that were involved in this sad story.

brazilian sex is cheap and easy
the only reason why alot of tourist men come to brazil is b’coz the sex is cheap, legal and the women are easy to manipulate. Those girls have no standards, FUCK THEM ALL!!!

  • rjd

    still the place to be
Brazil has it’s problems like any other country. I, travel to Rio often, and love everything about this place. It is very sad to see how the kids get treated, and live on the streets. I, have friends that are both black and white there, but ofcourse there is racism, but who the fuck is more racist than white america? So go to Brazil, enjoy the beautiful people, the beautiful beaches, the best food, but take your common sense with you.

    Close-minded fools
I’ve read these comments about people from the U.S criticizing Brasil as inferior and archaic. They say is suffers from classism, racism, cultural ignorance, political neglegance and corruption. If any of these individuals would take their own heads out of their asses they would perhaps see that of all those accusations, the nation most guilty on all those counts is the Grand USA. I love the USA and i have lived a productive life here but i am not blind to the fact that this country is the fatest, dirtiest and most evil of all the whores on earth. It is the nature of power and in contrast all countries have an equal portion of prosperity and hope be it in their hope, heart, spirtuality, community or any other “small” acheivment they’ve made. So go on and try to pretend the USA is’nt the highest paying customer for every dispicable thing man has imagined and throw your stones at your own heads.

rio de janeiro and it\’s main focus
i have been traveling to Rio for nine years, and i find this place is nothing but ignorance and stupidity. Also Brasil is still living in the dark stone ages. MOST brasilians still believe to this day that all americans are millionaires, and that america is paved with gold on every corner. I have never met such ignorance and stupidity in my life as I’ve seen in Brasil. The brasilian way of life is still in the B.C.(before christ) era. Let me give you one of many examples: Recently the brasilian government spent millions of dollars(reais) on a space-ship rocket program to the moon, whereby the rocket took off and crashed to the ground killing all aboard. Now with all the poor people starving and out of work, they try to keep up with the US space program, when little kids in Rio are seen selling chiclet gum on the streets trying to survive. Also they have a new President named Lula Da Silva who came out of poverty, and now since he is the President of Brasil and his stomach is full now, he has done NOTHING for all the poor and impoverished people of his country. As the famous actor Marlon Brando now deceased once said, when your stomach is full, you no longer identify with hunger anymore. Also, Brasil is made up of two classes of society, rich and poor, because there’s no middle class, and the rich treat the poor as SLAVES and that’s a fact. Also another major problem with Brasil is RACISM. Brasilians who have white skin classify themselves as WHITE, but in reality they are LATINO and that is a fact. All of South American is classified as Latino, so where in the hell do they think they are WHITE. Black brasilians catch holy hell in Brasil, wherby they only work as janitors or housemaids and other low paying jobs, whereby those so called White thinking brasilians get the top paying jobs in Banking, Business, and other professional jobs. The next time you travel to anywhere in Brasil just look around and you will see what i mean, especially when your plane lands at any airport in Brasil. Most Americans in the U.S. who never been to Brasil think of this country as Samba, beautiful beaches, sun-tanning, and the Girl from Ipanema which is nothing but a myth. There is no difference between Brasil and the KU KLUX KLAN, when it comes down to Racism, and I hve been there and experienced it. Also, did you know that the Carnival Parade in Rio was once Segregated. They had a Carnival Parade for so called White brasilians, and one for the Black brasilians, somehow the Black Carnival Parade was always the best and most popular, thereby they decided to just have one Carnival Parade for everyone. Also, Slavery did not end in Brasil until 1880, but if you look at Brasil today, Slavery has NEVER ended in Brasil till this day, and believe me this Country is in deep trouble.

    I Was There
No one was arrested or charged, only “detained,” while bribe money could be collected. The San Marcos police pommissioner, Marcos Menezes, led the shakedown.Everyone involved, including the U.S.Embassy (who were very involved and helpful) knows what really happend, including the Federal Police. No one cares about going after the corrupt cops. the newspaper reports were conmplete fabrications. While they were willing to splash the “detainment”all over the front pages, there has been no followup reporting the corruption. Message to filmmakers: stay out of Brazil.

    The $Real Deal
Brazil is notorious for having police and desperate locals that take advantage of foreigners. I lived there for two years and lost a lot of money b/c I had to pay off police and judges to expedite the legal process and get Brazilians out of my pockets. It seems like every other Brazilian I met there is a lawyer. They are a dime a dozen to meet the large demand for people trying to find legal means to squeeze money out of people or for victims of extortion or blackmail trying to get on with their lives.
These Americans didn’t do anything new. They are only the newest victims of prostitutes and police working together to bleed dollars out of these Americans. None of the tapes contained footage of any of the women in the house. They were not nude. All that happened was, they were paid and didn’t deliver anything but the Americans into the hands of collaborating police that took the Americans for even more money. I’m not condoning what these Americans did but the it’s needs to be kept in the mind that the real exploiters of the women were the Brazilian police who collaborated with these prostitutes. Tourists watch your back! Brazilians only love your money and the one’s that don’t want your money love to hate you out of envy.

    Guaranteed a shake down
Having lived in Rio for three years, I can assure you that a shakedown “went down” and that everybody from a Federal Judge to the most minor of Civil Police will receive large amounts of cash from this. The person receiving the most will of course be the lawyer for the accused. There are 2 countries in the world where sex with animals is encouraged and legal, Holland and Brasil. Brasil has one of the largest porno industries in the world, and its own amazing problems with child prostitution. These Americans did nothing illeagle, and payed the girls the equivilant of 2 weeks wages. Tourists to Brazil, beware.

The Bull Of Rio, Real Reo
Only thing I see is a big Law Suit coming down at the press and the Police Department by the Americans, Rio is not dealing with just anybody this time . The charges are all bull and the don’t support all this media and newspaper articles, There no evidence supporting all the false allegations.

P.S. I saw the evidence is all bullshit.

  • Guest

    On the Scene
There was no porno filming. This was a shakedown by local police.

  • Guest

Well, I couldn´t care less about these pornographers – however, they are attracted to Brasil for a reason. The women are easy fucking whores. You don´t see these vermen going to Sweeden or Canada to produce their trite now do you?

    how ignorant
no you idiot you dont need to have a perment to make a porn movie in brazil but since it just happens to have such law that prohibit having sexy with under age – might come as a fact.

    Is Porno Filmmaking Illegal
or was it just the fact that some of the girls were underage? Do you need a permit to make a porno film with adult actors in Brazil? There are lots of gay and straight ones on the US market.
