Brazil and India Join Forces to Build Railroad Wagons

The city of Santa Maria, in the southernmost Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, is going to receive a factory of railroad wagons.

Responsible for the undertaking is the Santa Fé Vagões, a joint venture between logistics company América Latina Logística, ALL, and Besco, manufacturer of equipments in the railroad sector from India.

The factory will generate about 400 direct jobs and will have initial investment of US$ 2.126 million. The project also foresees the production of 1,000 wagons per year.

The installation of the company should spark up the formation of a metal-mechanics hub supplying parts and components. The information is from the government of Rio Grande do Sul.
