Brazil Breaks Up Ring Offering Sex Tour Packages

Yesterday the Brazilian Federal Police (PF) arrested a gang accused of sexual tourism in the city of Fortaleza, state of Ceará.

Agents conducted investigations at three addresses in upper-class neighborhoods in the city, arresting eleven people, including a German, Oliver Gunther, who is believed to be the leader of the ring.

It is reported that Gunther offered foreigners sexual adventures in “packages” that cost around 2,000 euros.

The police apprehended photos of children and youths in erotic poses, computers and cell phones.

A spokesman for the police declared that a superficial examination of the material seemed to indicate that the gang was well-organized and operated out of Germany.

Among those arrested were two women who are accused of enlisting young girls.

The police were reported to be in contact with authorities in Germany so as to strengthen their case against the accused and make it possible to hold them in jail for a longer period of time.
