Brazil’s Publishing Giant Abril Calls On US’s Accenture to Revamp Customer Service

Brazil’s Grupo Abril, the leading publishing group in Latin America, has selected Accenture to build a new global subscription management system for all of Abril’s businesses, which includes 150 periodical titles, text books, online content, broadband internet, and pay-TV among others.

As part of the eight-year agreement, Accenture will design and deploy an integrated customer relationship management (CRM) platform that will help Brazil’s largest magazine publisher more effectively support its more than 3.7 million plus subscribers and 26 million readers and users.

Accenture will design the new subscription management and customer insight processes and replace Abril’s existing legacy systems with an integrated CRM system based on Oracle CDH and CRM applications.

“This will be the most influential and strategic transformation project Abril has undertaken in the past few decades,” said Mr. Maurizio Mauro, CEO of Grupo Abril.

“We chose Accenture as a long-term partner for this project primarily for their ability to custom-tailor an approach that would take into account our unique technology and operational constraints as well as our overall business objectives.”

“We have been working with Grupo Abril to develop a solution that effectively migrates its various media properties on to one global platform,” said Paulo Vicente, a partner in Accenture’s Media & Entertainment practice.

“The solution is designed to improve Abril’s ability to launch new cross-product offers and promotions by bringing the benefits and capabilities of all their businesses together.”
