Brazil’s Car Production Close to 2 Million Units. The Best Number Ever.

The production of vehicles by the carmakers installed in Brazil was of 1,834,861 units from January to September this year. The volume is 12.6% greater than in the same period last year.

This was the best accumulated result in the sector’s history, according to the performance evaluation released by the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).

On the same comparison level, exports increased by 38.7% in financial volume, with US$ 8.3 billion, against US$ 6 billion in 2004.

According to the Anfavea president, Rogelio Golfarb, the figures for September indicate the possibility of an increase in 29% in shipments to the external market up to the end of the year, reaching US$ 10.8 billion.

The estimated production for this year is of 2.4 million units, an increase in 11% over 2004. In both cases, the expectation is of beating new records.
