Brazil Looking Forward to Argentina Leader’s Visit

The president of Argentina, Néstor Kirchner, will arrive in Brazil on January 18 for a visit. According to Julio Biteli, press adviser of the Brazilian embassy in Argentina, the Brazilian government is eagerly awaiting this visit.

Among the matters potentially on the agenda are elections in Latin American countries (Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador) and the creation of the South American Community of Nations.

The new Argentinean Minister of Foreign Relations and International Trade, Jorge Taiana, will also pay a visit to Brazil. He will arrive on January 11 for a meeting with Minister Celso Amorim, according to the embassy’s press office.

Taiana will be accompanied by all the top officials from the Argentinean foreign office. This will permit Brazilian and Argentinean government representatives to hold sectorial meetings to discuss in greater depth specific matters affecting both nations.
