Recently a young Turkish student at the University of California in Berkeley told me that she wore a Workers Party (PT) campaign button during the year 2002. Never having visited Brazil, she was nonetheless rooting for Lula's election. Like her, millions of young people were cheering for the election of a leftwing president in Brazil.

Leading another generation of deserving and hopefull brasilians down the road of corruption and failure. Like the many before him Lula doesn't have the stones to stand up to the elite and make decisions that will BETTER BRASIL.
Brasil, a country with enoumous promise has spent a lifetime underachieving. What will it take for a real leader to take command and induce change? Unfortunately - I think it may be beyone the scope of reality in our lifetimes.
