Hello all...
I have been told that I can buy a used car in Brazil for under a $1000 US. I don't really care what it is as long as it runs ok. Anyone know of any of this or what the insurance might run or is it available ?? How dangerous is it driving around Brazil from town to town as a tourist ??

thanks

Mr. Hamilton:

Used cars in Brazil for less than U$ 1,000??? Tell me the name of the used car dealer's and I will buy one for me. You will be lucky if you find an used car (about 10 years old) for about U$ 2,000.

There is no danger driving around Brazil provided the license plate is Brazilian. Driving around in major states like Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul is just like driving around in any U.S. state.

Yours,

Rene
