Paulista Patois

Going to São Paulo? Then you need to talk the talk. And what
people speak there is not Portuguese or Brazilian. They have
a language of their own, known as Paulistês. Here's a sample:

Bagulho, bola, basy - marijuana

Balada - big party

Bumba, busão - bus

E aí, truta?! E aí, tru? - How is it?

É novas - For sure

Fala, mano! - Tell me, bro!

Firmeza - cool guy

Fubanga, mala véia - ugly man or woman

Loc - bom vivant

Lupa - shades

Maior falha - a mistake was made

Matina - morning

Megaton - fist blow

Miou a idéia - case closed

Nóia, noinha - high on drugs

Parei com as drogas (I'm not doing drugs any more) - I won't go out with ugly people

Powerfull, style - high quality stuff

Pá e tal, derrepentemente... - Let's go for kisses, heavy petting and maybe more

Rato cinza, gambá, porco fardado (Gray rat, skunk, pig in uniform) - cop

Resolver uma treta - to fight

Sair na correria (Get out on a rush) - Let's steal something

Sarado (a) - beautiful, sexually appealing

Se pá eu vou a algum pico - I might go out

Surfar (to surf) - to shag

Sussu - cool, A OK

Taradona (sex maniac woman) - pretty girl with sexy clothes

Tipo assim (type like that) - I mean

Tosco - ugly, disgusting, bad

Trocar um procedê - have a talk

Tô feio na foto (I look ugly in the picture) - I'm high on drugs

Tô na fita (I'm in the movie) - I'm game

Vamo colá lá - Let's go there

Vamo na minha goma, biqueira, puli - Let's go to my house

Vou empinar pipa (I'm going to fly a kite) - I'm getting a joint

Vou nessa barca (I'm taking this boat) - Count me in

Vou pá bola - I'll go in no time

Vou subir teu gás (I'll raise your gas) - I'll beat or kill you
