Made in Brazil to Dress Foreigners

Six clothes factories from the northeastern Brazilian state of Ceará will participate in three of the main international fashion events. The first is the United States Fashion Fair, to take place from the 29th of August to the 1st of September.

At the event will be the factories Emanuelle Criações, Cauípe Moda Praia, Corpo D’ígua, Livre Expressão, Filha do Sol and Turma da Malha.

Three of them will follow on to Europe where they will participate, from the 2nd to the 5th of September, at the Madrid Fashion Week. Four companies will exhibit their garments at the Lyon Fashion Fair, in France, from the 3rd to 5th of September.

The clothes factories are part of the Integrated Sectorial Project of Garment Exports Promotion in Ceará, coordinated by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) in Ceará in partnership with the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency (Apex).

As of the project, which began in January 2003, the companies adapted their products to the foreign market, were advised and the work force capacitated. As a result, these and other companies participating in the project are already exporting to Portugal, France, Spain, Israel and Germany.
