The International Relations Office of Agribusiness of Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, starts in Germany a campaign for promoting Brazilian foodstuff during the World Cup.

The actions will be carried out up until the 12th of July in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt. The aim is to promote Brazilian agribusiness through showing foodstuff produced in Brazil.

"The World Cup represents an unique opportunity for promotion, as it holds the moment of Brazil’s greatest international visibility in 2006," evaluated the minister Roberto Rodrigues, who will go to Germany to participate in events related to the campaign.

Still Bird Flu

Brazilian poultry exports dropped 12% in April in relation to the same month last year. External sales added up to US$ 229.1 million and 211,500 tons were shipped, which represented a reduction in 9.2% in comparison to the same period in 2005.

The information was disclosed yesterday, May 25, by the Brazilian Poultry Exporters Association (Abef).

According to the entity’s press advisory, the drop in exports is still reflex of the slow-down started in February, with the retraction of important consuming markets due to points of Asian flu in Asia, Europe and Africa.
