Brazil’s Embraer Deliver 63 Airplanes. 298 Others Have Been Ordered.

Embraer, the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer announced today, July 17, 63 airplanes were delivered in the first semester, 43% of the total of 145 units forecasted to be delivered this year.

In all there were 51 commercial jets, nine executive jets and three for defense and governments. This last category, according to the company, includes only the aircrafts used for transporting officials and by state-owned airlines.

On the second quarter 36 aircrafts were delivered, of which 30 commercial, five executive and one for defense and governments. Embraer has a portfolio of US$ 10.2 billion in firm orders, on a total of 298 orders. In 2007, the company’s forecast is for the delivery of 150 units.

The aircraft manufacturer had delivered 27 airplanes in the first quarter of the year. During the first three months of the year were delivered 21 commercial jets, four executive jets and two for the defense sector. In this last case the company only releases information on planes to be used to transport authorities.
