Lufthansa Upgrades Order: It Now Wants 30 Brazilian Embraer 190 Jets

Brazilian-made Embraer-190 jet Brazilian aircraft builder Embraer confirms that it has entered into a preliminary agreement with Deutsche Lufthansa AG for supplying 30 Embraer 190 jets, with deliveries starting in 2009.

The execution of the final contract is expected within the next few weeks. Once confirmed, this contract will supersede the existing agreement between Embraer and Swiss International Air Lines for 15 Embraer 170s and 15 Embraer 195s, and it does not substantially alter Embraer's existing firm backlog.
