Brazil Invites Public to Offer Suggestions on 10-Year Energy Plan

Electricity in Brazil Those interested in placing their opinions about any matter related to the energy sector in Brazil may do so directly to the Ministry of Mines and Energy starting now up to January 30, 2009.

Throughout this period, the Ministry will keep a channel open to the society, seeking opinions and suggestions with regard to the Ten-Year Plan for Expansion of Energy, the PDE 2008-2017.

The PDE is a government evaluation aimed at forecasting the behavior of the energy market over the next 10 years. According to the press department at the ministry, this is a common practice adopted by the ministry, and many technical suggestions have already been approved by the government, mainly related to ethanol, oil, renewable fuels, generation and energy transmission, natural gas and renewable energies, among others.

Contributions for improvement of the plan may be sent to e-mail address pde2017@mme.gov.br.
