Brazil and Barbados Sign Technical and Cultural Agreements

Brazil’s Minister of Foreign Relations signs today, in Barbados, an agreement for cultural cooperation. The two countries will exchange experiences in arts, theater, music, and restoration techniques. Barbados and Brazil will also exchange literature and information.

According to the document, a joint committee, coordinated by the ministries of Foreign Relations of both countries, will identify priority areas where cooperation projects may be developed.

Today, the Brazilian Chancellor will have a meeting with Barbados Acting Prime Minister, Mia Motley, and afterwards, with Chancellor Billie Miller.

In the last three years, relations between Brazil and Barbados, according to Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Relations, were strengthened. Brazilian delegations also went to Barbados to sign agreements for technical cooperation in health and agriculture.

Celso Amorim was in Barbados last year, participating on a meeting of Chancellors of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), to specifically discuss the situation in Haiti.
