The A-List of Brazil and Latin America’s Working Joints

Sun Microsystems announced that its subsidiaries Sun Brazil, Sun Mexico and Sun Chile have been named among the 2005 list of Best Places to Work in Latin America.

Sun was one of only fourteen companies, of the more than 5,000 polled in the survey, that gained the recognition in three or more countries in the region.

“These awards are a significant accomplishment for Sun Brazil, Sun Mexico and Sun Chile and recognize the focus we place on personnel and workplace initiatives throughout the region,” said Jaime Valles, Vice President, Sun Latin America.

“Sun’s people are the key to our success and we truly appreciate their hard work, dedication and confidence in Sun.”

Sun’s Latin American operations have been consistently cited as great places to work.  Sun Brazil was on the list of Best Places to Work in Latin America in 2004, 2003 and 2001 and last year was also named one of the Top 50 Companies for Women in Latin America.

Both Sun Mexico and Sun Chile were recognized as among the Best Places to Work in Latin America in 2004.

The Best Places to Work in Latin America rankings are prepared annually by the independent Great Places to Work Institute.

The Institute defines a great place to work as a company where employees “trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with.”

The studies look at credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
