Los Angeles-Brazil Nonstop Flight Back Thanks to Korean Air

Korean Air Starting this Monday, June 2, at 7:30 pm, Korean Air will be offering what should be the only non-stop air service between São Paulo, Brazil and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The three-class flights will be happening three times a week.

The airline is operating Monday, Wednesday and Friday flights from LAX to the international Guarulhos, São Paulo, international airport (GRU) using Boeing 777-200 aircraft outfitted with lie-flat sleeper seats in premium classes and on-demand movies and music throughout the aircraft.

The flights leave from LAX at 7:30 p.m. and arrive in São Paulo at 11:00 a.m. the next morning.  The return flight on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, leaves São Paulo at 1:30 p.m. and arrives at LAX at 9:30 p.m. the same day.

"Korean Air's non-stop flight between LAX and São Paulo is a key route for people who want to conduct business in South America's largest city," says John Jackson, Korean Air's director of sales and marketing for the Americas.

"Korean Air already offers the best options for travel to Asia, but we're also a global airline that now provides passenger and cargo service between Los Angeles and São Paulo that no other company has the scope to do."

São Paulo is the largest city in Brazil with a population of more than 10 million, the most populous city in South America.  Korean Air will be the only airline with nonstop service between Los Angeles and Brazil. In the past several air carriers offered these nonstop flight, which are now extinct.

Korean Air call itself the largest transpacific passenger carrier out of Los Angeles, flying from more cities in the Americas to more cities in Asia than any other airline.

According to the Los Angeles Mayor's office, this new service will provide an important connection between Asia and Brazil that could generate a significant positive economic impact on the Southern California economy.
