Brazil Takes Its Best Chicken and Coffee to International Chef’s Congress

Chefs from BrazilFood from Brazil such as coffee and chicken will be presented to chefs from various countries attending the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) World Congress, in Chile this week.

The two products are part of the promotion strategy of the Brazilian Poultry Exporters Association (Abef) and the Brazilian Coffee Industry Association (Abic).

At the congress, the two associations’ stands will offer visitors explanations on the use and quality of the products. In the case of the Abef, in addition to supplying the meat that will be used to cook dishes for two of the event’s luncheons, the association is going to explain about the chicken cuts used by companies.

In the case of coffee, the product will be served at several tasting and event support service stations. At the Abic’s stand, participants in the congress will be able to taste the coffee and watch a presentation on the product, explaining about its culinary uses.

On Tuesday, chef Jorge Monti, the executive director of the Brazilian Haute Cuisine Association (Abaga) and the WACS’ Continental director for Latin America is going to give a lecture entitled “Cocinar com Café” (Cooking with Coffee). All of the coffees served at the event will be supplied by Brazilian companies and will bear the label of the program Coffees from Brazil: The Best Coffees in the World.

The project, developed by the Abic in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), aims to promote higher value added products, such as roasted, roasted and ground, and instant coffee. In Chile, the product is being promoted since last year.

WACS is a global network of chefs societies founded in 1928 at the Sorbonne University, in Paris, and whose main goal is to maintain and improve global culinary standards.

With affiliates in 80 different countries, WACS promotes a biennial congress featuring technical meetings and the final phases of global chef contests.
