Brazil and Russia Strengthen Technological Ties

Brazil and Russia are talking about creating a center for technology transfer in Brazil, to increase the scientific and technological exchange between the two countries.

The information on this new development was given by the Russian Ambassador in Brazil, Vladimir Tyurdenev. He participated on the opening of a seminar in Rio de Janeiro, this Monday, February 20, about bilateral trading relations.

Tyurdenev said that it is a priority of his government to increase technological cooperation with Brazil, a measure that would benefit entrepreneurs of both countries.

In his opinion, it’s time they take advantage of the companies’ investment potential on executing large-scale industrial development projects, using existing knowledge in areas such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, information technology, and electronics.

The Ambassador said that Brazil and Russia have expanded their trading and economic relations, and as an example, he mentioned the increasing partnerships in the energy area, where Russia supplies equipment for hydroelectric enterprises in Brazil.

Tyurdenev also said that Brazilian oil company, Petrobras, and Russian state-owned company that explores natural gas, Gazprom, are close to establishing a cooperation agreement to operate in other countries.
