Brazilian Gol Opens New Route

Brazilian airline GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A. announced today  that it will commence daily flights to Petrolina, state of Pernambuco, on February 25, 2005. The new service will offer round trip service between Petrolina and Recife, capital city of Pernambuco.

“As Brazil’s leading producer of fruit, Petrolina is an important economic hub essential both within Brazil as well as internationally. GOL’s new routes will help contribute to the further development of the region’s commercial relationships,” says Tarcisio Gargioni, GOL’s Marketing and Services Vice President.

In addition to contributing to 30% of the region’s overall export fruit volume, Petrolina is Brazil’s second leading wine producer with 2.5 crops per year, a factor that also continues to attract the attention of the global business community.

Fares will start at 158 reais for a one-way ticket. From Petrolina to São Paulo (Guarulhos airport) the one-way fare will start at 399 reais. Petrolina to Belo Horizonte will cost 539 reais. Tickets can be purchased at www.voegol.com.br and paid in up to 12 installments, interest free.

GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, a “low-cost, low-fare” airline, is one of the most profitable and fastest growing airlines in the industry worldwide.

The company currently offers service to 39 major business and travel destinations in Brazil and Argentina. In 2005, GOL plans to grow by increasing frequencies in existing markets and adding service to additional markets in both Brazil and other high-traffic South American travel destinations.
