Brazil and Argentina Searching for Dirty War’s Missing

Brazil’s Minister of the Special Secretariat for Human Rights, Nilmário Miranda, and representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Argentina will sign cooperation agreement for the exchange of information about missing people during military dictatorship in both countries.

The ceremony will happen today, in Asunción (Paraguay), in the last day of debates of the First Meeting of High Level Authorities in Human Rights and Chancelleries of the Mercosur and Associate Countries.


The meeting began Thursday, May 5, with the objective of discussing a common agenda for the promotion of human rights in the economic bloc’s countries.


Today, the Brazilian Minister will meet members of the Commission on Truth and Justice of Paraguay. He will also participate on the third session of the Meeting of High Level Authorities.


On the agenda there are issues such as the combat of human trafficking; rights of children and youth; the inter-American system of human rights, and the right to truth and memory.
