Brazil’s Automation Revenues to Grow 30% to Over US$ 2 Billion This Year

Automation in Brazil Automation industries from Brazil should expand their revenues by 30% this year. The forecast is by ISA – South America, an association that brings together professionals from the area of automation and instrumentation.

Sector revenues should reach 3.7 billion reais (US$ 2.3 billion) by the end of the year. According to information disclosed by the organization, the great booster of industry in the area should be substantial investment forecasted for infrastructure in the country.

According to the head of ISA-South America, Marcus Coester, as the funds invested in infrastructure are long-term, the decision of investing today reflects the orders placed by the sector for the next two or three years, which guarantees good performance for industries in the area for a reasonably long period.

Apart from investment in the sectors of oil and gas, ironworks and pulp and paper, another sign that the automation sector is going to grow in coming years is the expansion in the hiring of personnel by organisations.

In Brazil, according to ISA, the sector is growing above the average of the global automation industry. Forecasts by international consultancy companies show that the sector should grow 6.4% worldwide over the next four or five years. Last year, industry in the area grew 11% in Brazil.

ISA is a non-profit-making organization whose mission is helping its 30,000 members, and other automation professionals worldwide, to find solutions to complex technical products while improving their professional capacity.

The institution should promote, between November 17th and 19th, the 12th South American Trade Show and International Congress of Automation, Systems and Instrumentation, in São Paulo.
